Agreed. Brees just offensive player of the year.

I could live with that. Tebow deserves it for all the comebacks he led. The game against the Bears where he led the team deep into field goal range for the tying kick? Magnificent.
http://www.footballoutsiders.c.../week-17-quick-reads

according to this link from 18c3v, the incredibly multi-talented Aaron Rodgers was able to coach up and call the game well enough from the sideline so that a 7th round draft pick, bench warmer QB from eastern Texass could outplay Drew Brees and deliver one of the all time great QB performances in League history. All while fighting the swirling winds of the frozen tundra and despite missing the # 1 WR, #1 RB, # 2 TE, #1 RT and playing with a rotation at LT

And Brees was at home in the dome padding his stats and fluffing his image

Since we know MM is no offensive genius, the only possible conclusion is

ipso facto habeus corpus christi; Aaron Rodgers is the MVP

QED
A-Rod gets Peter King's vote, so it won't be a shutout.

MMQ

Sometime after 5 this morning, I finalized my call. I decided not to split the vote, because I thought it would be a cop out. I felt I had to make a decision. And I picked Rodgers. Four reasons:

1. I thought Rodgers was better for the full season...
2. Brees had five multiple-interception games, Rodgers none...
3. I wanted to respect statistics but not be overwhelmed by them...
4. Rodgers won the head-to-head matchup...
anybody with a memory capable of holding the last 4 months in their retention has no choice but to choose AR for MVP. it's just talking heads filling time trying to make this a contest.

and I still really don't care. all I want is the Lombardi.
The MVP topic came up on his segment with Wilde yesterday. He really didn't spend that much time discussing it. He did make a veiled comment that at no time this year did he or GB take an opportunity to pad anyones stats. When it was time to come out of a game or rest some starters, that's what they did.

He then segued from the MVP discussion to recent media chatter about the Packers kind of creeping home down the stretch (paraphrasing his quote a bit here):

"We are a bit surprised by some of the comments in the media that we're no longer the team to beat in the playoffs. You always have to consider the source and where it's coming from."

"But we've had a great season. We still have some work to do. It's interesting how people might not remember some of the wins we've had along the way. And the way we've played this year"

"So we might have to remind some of those people".
Does anyone know the status of the Saints O-Line and how many games their starters missed? I bet the Saints were healthier in this area.

Regardless, what a great year by both QB's. I would vote Rodgers!
The Saints' line missed a combined 80 games. Not a single one of their starters played in any of the agmes after an unfortunate accident at a local buffet.

Does that help Brees with his MVP bid?

detective Jason Wilde has been finding out votes via twitter. Says his tally is up to 15 who have said they voted for Rodgers

Goalline. Back in 2009 you predicted a Super Bowl Championship would happen in Green Bay in 2010. You were correct.

Do you believe the Packers will win a 2nd Lombardi in a row?

Back on topic...

Sounds like we're almost halfway to votes for Rodgers. I haven't heard one person vote for Brees yet?
I know they don't have votes, but on the same show Collinsworth said he voted for Rodgers, both Simms and Sapp hemmed and hawed about it.

Sapp pointed out the greatness of Brees, but eventually said the "body of work" over the course of the season leads him to Rodgers being the MVP.

Simms said he's split the vote, and Collinsworth said that was not an option. After be asked who he would've voted for knowing he couldn't split his vote, Simms ultimately said he'd pick Rodgers by the slimmest of margin.
Aaron Rodgers easily edged Drew Brees to be the Associated Press' first-team All-Pro quarterback, winning by a 47 1/2 to 2 1/2-vote margin.

not even close. Bodes well for his chances of winning the MVP, methinks
These guys purposely try to be different for discussion purposes only.

For the first 13 games, nobody even questioned Rodgers being the MVP. Now because Brees chucks it down the field vs. Carolina while being up 45-17, Brees is the MVP?!!!?!? Stop insulting my intelligence already.
