I went to a Brewer/Diamondback game in June at AmFam. We were down 6-0 before my first hot dog.
@Tschmack posted:The D Backs have two very good top of rotation pitchers in Gallen and Kelly. Would much rather have faced Miami or Chicago.
Reading that Gallen or Kelly won’t be going in game 1 cause they pitched over the weekend.
“The D-backs didn’t punch their postseason ticket until Saturday, so they won’t have their top two starters, Zac Gallen and Merrill Kelly, available until Game 2 and (if necessary) Game 3. Brandon Pfaadt, a 24-year-old right-hander with a 5.72 ERA in 96 regular-season innings, is a leading candidate to start Game 1”
I'm glad they were pushed back, speculation was they would go one day short on rest. But the Brewers still have to beat at least one, maybe both. It would be disastrous if a guy with a 5.72 ERA beats Burnes and they're looking at 2 must wins against their top two. Really a lot of pressure for the Brewers in that first game to win.
They caught a break in game 1 for sure. Still, this team has a history of making mediocre pitchers look good. Hope not this time around.
It’s best of 3 so honestly they got to get that game 1 no matter what.
Can't wait to see the B K thread title. Better be a doozzy.
Shite, that’s pressure!
