Agreed. Same order of importance for me.

In what way? EDS was a monster last week in the ground game. Sure, Fairly made him look horrible in pass pro while Sitton and Saturday were doubling Suh, but I still think he is better than Saturday in that area too.

He is more capable with shotgun formation. He does get pushed around but EDS gets freaking destroyed.

If I have to take a pick between two turds, I want the turd that can at least consistently get the ball into the QB's hands since he's been doing it for 14 years.

I agree (but I wouldn't call them turds) that with the way the Bears D can create turnovers the Packers don't need a missed snap or two.

I think it's time for Jerry Angelo appreciation... Lets take a look back at the players who were available for the picks used in the Cutler trade.

2009 pick #18 Players available:

Clay Mathews
Percy Harvin
Michael Oher
Robert Ayers

2010 pick # 25 Players available:

Devin McCourtney
Rob Gronkowski
Kyle Wilson

2010 pick # 84 Players available:

Jimmy Graham
Eric Decker
Navarro Bowman

As the Bears star players get old and insignificant, we can always look back at this and imagine what might have been.

Cutler wished Green Bay's secondary "good luck" at utilizing physical tactics against Chicago's receivers, while Brandon Marshall deadpanned, "I do welcome that."

"We've got some dudes that, if you're gonna get up in their face, even our speed guys are gonna get around them, and our big guys are gonna throw and go," Cutler said. "So we invite press coverage. We invite man (coverage). If we get that type of game, our guys outside have to make some plays for us."

Matthews says he's confident he'll hold up
by Tom Silverstein

quote:

Green Bay - LB Clay Matthews made it through practice - albeit on a limited basis - and declared himself ready to go Wednesday.

Matthews, who has been sidelined since the middle of the Arizona game with a hamstring pull, returned to practice and took part in a portion of everything.

"He looked great," end Ryan Pickett said.

Matthews said that practice went about as well as it could and was confident he'd be ready to play against the Bears Sunday.

"I feel good," Matthews said, "It was nice being back out there practicing. As coming back from any injury, obviously I took limited reps. I'll increase them as the week goes on. We've had an adequate amount of time to get healthy and come back fresh the last part of this season."

Matthews has pulled his left hamstring twice before and has experience in rehabbing. He also has experience knowing when he's healthy.

He missed only one game total because of another hamstring pull both times he returned.

"Unfortunately that is the case," he said of having two previous injuries. "As far as I know when it's healthy and when its not healthy and I think that's ultimately (what counts). When I'm back, I'm back. When I'm not, obviously, I'm not.

"So, I'll start with this practice and we'll work our way to Sunday."

Matthews said that it's not ideal to have to come back from a hamstring injury and play in cold weather, but he said he doesn't think that will be a factor in determining how his hamstring holds up. The times he pulled it before it was in training camp and early season, so playing in December at Soldier Field probably won't make a difference, he said.

"Ultimately I’ve pulled muscles when it’s been warm out, so it’s part of the deal," he said. "We’ll do a good job of keeping it warm, staying warm, and monitoring the situation.but ultimately I have to be my biggest coach, and if I start to get fatigued and tired, instead of maybe pushing it maybe take myself out for a play here or there.

"But when I’m in the game it’s going to be full speed."

Matthews said it's been hard to watch when the defense has struggled, particularly against the New York Giants three weeks ago. He said he's impressed that the team has continued to win game and he's hoping he can add something as soon as he gets back.

"I want to break out a little bit of the rust obviously sitting out a few games," Matthews said. "But there shouldn’t be a drop-off. Hopefully there isn’t."

so let me get this straight. Marshall says Capers was the MVP of the last game for the genius game plan that stopped him. But now he dares Capers to change the plan to man coverage. And Capers would do that why?????

I'm finally starting to understand why Goodell thinks receivers are getting hit in the head too much.

“I don't like the Green Bay Packers," the Chicago Bears star wideout said. “I'm not going to use the word hate, but I really dislike the Green Bay Packers and their players."

Marshall also said he will not shake hands with any Packers players after the game.
"It's not going to happen," he said.

what the heck? he played one game against the GBP, got stifled, and now he talks like he's a vet of the NFC North? weirdo, and childish. hope they bottle him up better than last time. I know suckler can throw more than 4 INTs!

TBSS!

Nope. Terry McAulay was the referee for the franchise record 18 penalties. He was also the referee for the NFC Championship game @CHI.

Lang looks good. House Returns.

The signs continue to look promising for guard T.J. Lang to return after missing one game because of a sprained ankle.

Lang practiced today for the second straight day and was regularly taking snaps during the jog-through portion of the workout open to reporters.

Outside linebacker Clay Matthews also appears ready to return from a hamstring injury and was working close to full time.

One player who didn't participate Wednesday, cornerback Davon House (illness), returned today.

Three players didn't practice today, all of whom missed Wednesday as well: receiver Jordy Nelson (hamstring, halfback James Starks (knee) and defensive lineman C.J. Wilson (knee

that depends on which part of their game you look at.

EDS is far superior to Saturday in run blocking and it's not even close. Conversely, Saturday is actually above average in pass pro, while EDS is atrocious in pass pro.

I take that to mean he took snaps at guard, rather than tackle. If so, I'm a very happy Packer fan at the moment.
