perfection? perhaps mediocre would be a better descriptor.

on PAPER, the packers have as much talent as anyone in the nfc except perhaps seattle and sf.

on PAPER, the packers should own the division again. but, all 3 other teams have narrowed the gap and the packers cannot expect to simply run the table unless they peak quickly.

on the FIELD, the packers have produced 2/3 mediocre performances. turnovers have likely cost us 2 important games already. rodgers pulling a cutler and pouting at the coach. not pretty.

on the FIELD, the packers cannot stay healthy. sure, you can ARGUE that some of the defensive breakdowns have been been a result of missing the starting safeties and injuries to the running backs. But the fact of the matter is that we don't know when/if the injured players will be at full strength. And CM3's recurring hamstring injuries are a huge issue for a player just given a monster contract and who represents the only consistent pass rusher the team has.

and then you have the OLINE issues. Whether for injury, lack of talent, lack of coaching, or whatever, this unit continues to underperform.

then comes the issue of ROSS. whoever decided to give that gentleman another shot deserves to be fired. not only did he single-handedly handed kap momentum in the playoff game, he was given 2 additional shots to wreck up the packer's current season. now, the packers have to scramble for a replacement during the bye week. but yet, TT and crew can do no wrong...

finally, the homers continue to give this defense a pass. whatever the case may be, capers should have either stepped down or been fired after the niners' playoff loss. what would lombardi et al. say about the packers giving up yards in HISTORIC proportions? also, much like the saints, the packers defense just has to be better than average for the team to succeed. how is it then, that perhaps one of the only defenses worse than the packers' from last year (NO) got better in a hurry with Ryan despite having less talent than GB's and a ton of injuries to starters?

You've already declared the Bears Vikings division champs after 4 games.  Try showing up when this team succeeds and maybe people will take you seriously instead of just a mind numbingly ignorant troll.

Point being there are a truckload of injuries and there are mistakes made but the team progresses as the season progresses.  But you continue with pants pissing predictions when other people know the changes made to this team sometimes take lumps and time to morph into a championship team.

If you actually watched football on a regular basis you would see the history of "hot" teams in the beginning of the season fading down the stretch and vice versa.  But you continue with your "I said it" talking points and disappear like a coward when you are inevitably proven wrong.

i agree with you respect to the injuries. there is no denying the fact that the packers have been snakebitten on the OL. although, i would actually suggest that the latest bulaga injury is a plus as i hope tt doesn't give him an extended contract on the basis of his injury history. with respect to sherrod, that leg injury just sucks. but, they probably should have made better plans in the offseason. and, they should have known what they had in eds.

but, in my opinion (i hope everyone's entitled to one), the poor start out of the gate goes beyond simple injuries. MM was badly outcoached again in the opener as he allowed boldin at least 100 yards too many. Also, how logical is it for MM to bank on a dual-headed rushing machine with harris and lacy (and with harris actually being the starter), despite the fact that harris had multiple injuries and basically was not healthy for ota's or training camp? the training staff should have been able to better predict the severity of burnett's and hayward's injuries, and perhaps a veteran replacement should have been brought in to glue up the secondary.

regardless, the packers are right in it thanks to the lions. i hope the team responds with a sense of urgency.
