I don't care if the defender has his arm. FIGHT FOR THAT BALL, it's YOURS.

His body was out of position on that throw. He needs to turn a little sooner. He'll get it but he ain't James Jones, Jordy or Davante....yet

I think ARod likes to throw the ball to Tonyan. Sternberger was used more in blocking schemes, than passing schemes. That stumble ARod took, when he tried to avoid the blitz, had me holding my breath, for a while. Davante will be back in week 6. I saw Garvin, Begelton, Taylor all on the field during the game. I think with our offense cooking, MLF feels he can play more rookies and UDFAs to get them game experience. Love that Boyle got to take a knee in the final 5 seconds of the game. For his efforts, Boyle got -1 yards rushing, on the day! LOL!

The fact that the interior DL appeared to hold up pretty well was a good sign.

The thing that surprised me the most was how disinterested the Falcons looked. I thought they'd come in desperate and put up a lot of points. Given how they ran out of DBs before and during the game, it's not surprising they struggled on defense, but the offensive lethargy was very surprising. Statistically, Matt Ryan had a decent game, but the statistics don't reflect the lack of arm strength or his general lack of enthusiasm. He just looked like he was going through the motions. Julio Jones looked OK in the first half and decided not to play in the second - almost like he knew they didn't really have a chance.

As Henry kept telling people during the game chat, the Falcons were never really in the game in the 4th quarter, but they were never more than one big play from it being a one-score game. The score didn't really reflect how lopsided that game was.

I think the ATL offense was wore out after that 20 play drive, not 1 but TWO 4th down conversions.....resulting in a meek three points. It was after that drive ATL seemed to be going thru the motions. The Packers knew it too & decided to take it easy on them. They were done. Packers could've easily hung 50 on them.

- Lack of big play

"Z" had 3 sacks....those are big plays. I'm assuming you mean a turnover. They had a shot at an INT & blew it again. They'll get it. They're in the right spot to make the play. It'll happen.

Would like to put a pedometer on Ervin. He puts on some miles.

Anyone seen Ridley. They basically put him on a milk carton.

love all the motion “picks” and bunches we do.

It’s fun to see what MiLF comes up with.

These days I’m a Robert Tonyanyaya fan first.

+ Aaron Rodgers has many options and is forcing nothing. He's playing smart, efficient football while still taking chances. He's bought into the system like hasn't for a decade. Phenomenal football.

- Defenses we've played haven't exactly been a murders row of talent. Vikings and Lions were short on CBs, Falcons might as well have been playing the ball boy at Safety. I think the trend will continue of smart and efficient football, but I think it will level out after a while.

Packers should get a shot at testing that passing offense versus the Colts and the Niners little later in the season.

Although the Niners definitely don't have their preferred starters on defense. Particularly on their front seven which dramatically helps out their pass defense.

Also you'll notice The Saints & Lions pass defense isn't terrible -- yardage wise anyway -- about middle of the pack

Green Bay opponents have started exactly ONE drive in GB territory (Week 3 vs NOR after failed 4th down)... That's 1/40 Drives. Only team that's better is Seattle with ZERO. 0/45

Did anyone catch Rodgers interview with Kenny Mayne on the pregame?  They asked him about his relationship with Love and MLF and he said something like icy and toxic with a tongue firm in his cheek and grinning when he said something like "isn't that what the media wants to hear?"

AR is locked in this year and if things stay that way this year could be special.

I agree on the defenses being beaten up, but look at who Rodgers was throwing the ball to the last 2.5 games that Adams has missed.

Last night, 7 Packers caught passes in a game where Rodgers was 27 for 33 while missing their 2 best WRs and the TE that started the first three games (M. Lewis).

As someone noted in the game thread last night, MVS made some nice chain-moving plays and caught 4 passes for 45 yards. He's a third-round pick. Other than that, the entire offense was throwing to UDFAs or guys off of waivers and MLF/Rodgers adjusting the game plan to keep taking that flare pass out of the backfield - Jones and J. Williams were outstanding out of the backfield and caught 13 balls out of 13 targets for 135 yards. Other than a screen or two, throwing to the backs was like taking a free 6-10 yards every time they did it. In 2017, MM had the same two RBs and they averaged 2 receptions a game between them. MM would have run them into the middle of the line 20 more times and called long-developing downfield routes instead of taking the free yardage 13 times.

The rest of the 10 receptions were by guys that were either UDFAs or that the Packer picked up off of waivers (Tonyan, Shepard, M. Taylor, and Ervin).

The Packers won a game handily last night by dominating in the passing game getting only 4 catches for 45 yards from WRs or TEs that were more than minimum salary guys.

Saw it and loved it, and really how could I love Aaron ANY more....... ❤️. 💚💛

From Ben Fennell: Packers defense WORST in NFL on 3rd Down allowing 80.0% completions Coverage/QB Pressure need some tweaking and improving during the bye week. What's the reason? "Jimmy & Joes" or "X's & O's"?

Counterpoint

Jimmy Graham TD catches in 4 games with the Bears so far,  having the likes of guys named Mitch and Nick (not Aaron) throwing to him: 3

+ all the offense, play calling, all of it

- missed tackles. 44 is not going to cut it as the mlb if he keeps missing tackles.  I don't like the db's missing tackles, but they get some slack from me bc they have to cover, but lb's have to tackle.  51 looks good, but 44 - I get squeamish every time he has the play go to him - fast/ras, whatever, the game comes down to being available in the right spot and then tackling, he is in the right position, but he misses tackles...

---- MVS not understanding how to make a back shoulder catch

That was ugly.   Beautiful ball that Lazard or Adams make look like an easy catch.

Jordy would have broke his route, yawned, made the TD catch, tossed the ball to the ref, and trotted to the sidelines to the waiting adoration of his teammates.

Starting to think MVS is just a really fast klutz.

Eye-popping NextGen Stat: What’s the definition of wide open? Try this: Jones had 12.9 yards of separation on his 6-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter. That’s the second-most separation on a Packers touchdown catch over the past four seasons.

Ummm.......Wow.

Jim Rome was talking about that play today. He said with the empty stadium it didn't look like a play happening in a game. It looked like a couple of guys off to the side throwing the ball to each other during pregame warmups. Pretty accurate.

Rodgers has just been a maestro out there with.  It has always been fun to watch him but this year has been pure joy. Nobody has ever been as good as he is. I dont care what era. ITs like watching the best of the best athletes to ever play and he is putting on a clinic.

Big minus:

@RobDemovsky: Sounds like the Packers have lost rookie TE Josiah Deguara to a knee injury. "Unfortunately it looks to be a pretty bad one," coach Matt LaFleur said. "We expect him to bounce back from it, and we still think he's got a really bright future.”

I often follow an opponent's forum during the games to get an idea of who's being targeted and how the 'others' perceive the Packers' play. It's full of the usual "they're holding on every play" and "We can't catch a break" that you see everywhere, including x4.

Last night had 2 interesting threads. One about how Rodgers is in a beef with the Packers over Love's drafting and LaFleur's offense.

The other about how Matt Ryan needs a running windup to make throws Rodgers makes flat footed. AR is aging gracefully.

LaFluffer has his shit together.  Glad he's our coach.

Arod is back to elite status.

Alexander is a stud.

Tonyan appears to be a stud TE in the making.

2020 draft class.  I realize you "draft for the future" but Jesus fuck....

Tackling could be better.

Jones seemed to take quite a few big hits up the middle.

Can a brother get AJ Dillon the ball at the goal line?????

Barnes gets the ‘dot’

Undrafted rookie inside linebacker Krys Barnes has had a heck of a first month of the regular season. He was signed to the 53-man active roster the day of the practice before the season opener in Minnesota, and then started against the Vikings. Three weeks later, defensive coordinator Mike Pettine entrusted Barnes with the “green dot,” meaning he was calling the plays when he was on the field against the Falcons.

Ty Summers had that duty in New Orleans after starter Christian Kirksey injured a pectoral muscle.

“I feel like it’s trust, man,” outside linebacker Za’Darius Smith said of Barnes being given that duty. “When one guy goes down, we’ve got to depend on the next guy to come in and set the tone for us in the middle because he’s the one with the mic and he’s the one that’s making the call. I feel like he did a good job. There were one or two situations where we possibly got a call in late but, man, for him, man, undrafted, to come in and do what he did, he’s going to be good for us, I can tell you that much.”

Before exiting with a shoulder injury, Barnes made six tackles on 38 snaps.
