Yeah...that is what I saw too.    That did not appear to be the type of injury you will be "day to day" from.

Looked to me like he grabbed his arm, also looked like he was talking a few seconds as well...if that's involuntary motor skills, that's kind of frightening.

Assuming he's out for an extended period, of the current 11 offensive starters, where would you rank him in terms of importance? My ranks:

1) Rodgers

2) Lacy

3) Nelson

4) Bakhtiari

5) Finley

6)........

7)........

57)..... Kuhn

Once again, we can look at other teams in more dire straights. (See Rams today with Bradford and Texans with Cushing)

TE Jermichael Finley, who was knocked out and suffered a neck injury, is still undergoing tests. I’m told signs are good though

Rapoport to the rescue. VERY encouraging news

Neck injuries are extremely tricky. On opening day in '03, Driver had what looked to be the worst neck injury I'd ever seen. He leapt extremely high for a badly overthrown Favre rocketball, and landed squarely on his helmet at an odd angle. He was only out for one game. Then look at the injury of Nick Collins, it didn't look too bad when it happened, but it ended his career.

I hate it when early news reports are off base.  Totally agree with Blair on that one.

As a former TV Director of live newscasts I find it irresponsible and disgusting!

Obviously my first concern is for JF and his health.  Praying he will be healthy.

But if this does turn out to be serious, just remember his son pleading with him

to quit playing football.  I would be willing to bet that he will hang up the cleats

after this season, if that's the case.  And as a fellow dad, I wouldn't blame him.

Well, bring on Stoneburner!

Packers don't have "day to day" injuries.

All kidding aside, for me there's nothing worse injury-wise than seeing a player lying on the ground twitching uncontrollably....except maybe Theisman.  If he has a neck, that's no good.  If it's a concussion, that's number two this season.  Isn't there a completely different protocol for getting back on the field after you're second concussion in one season?  I wish him the best, but my guess is he's done for the year.

It would be nice to see just one game without a serious injury.  It's getting ridiculous.

The worst part is that the NFL is fast becoming a league of attrition. Mediocre teams have a chance today as long as they don't have a bunch of major injuries. Great teams can have a few season-enders and their season is toast. Not only that, but you gotta think that kids watching guys get carted off all the time doesn't exactly make them want to play football, much less get their parents excited about their kid playing. I love the game, but it's tough watching all the spearing with the head and the diving at the knees that goes on today.

Comment From Aaron Hi Wes sorry to be so repetitive with the Finley questions but a couple of hours ago ian rapoport tweeted that sources say even though he's still undergoing tests, signs look good. Anything to add or elaborate on?

Wes Hodkiewicz:
that's what we're hearing as well. Packers spokesperson said he's still at test as of few hours ago. Has use of his extremities. All positives.

Every week it seems like there are a lot of major injuries to important players.

Sam Bradford and Brian Cushing are done for the season.  Cutler's injury looked pretty bad, not to mention Tillman and Briggs got hurt as well.   Finley's hit was brutal.  The list goes on and on.

If any team is equipped to deal with it TT and the Packers are that team, but I wonder if at some point the league has to really consider expanding the rosters.

I never came out of a game. Kickoffs, punts, extra points, TE, DE. Was in fantastic shape. Got 3 pinched nerves. Take it back. Came out of half the game after the first nerve. Macho in me wouldn't allow a collar until suffering the third one. 2 and 3 came in practice.

Without a horse collar I couldn't play. Any slight jar and my left arm was paralyzed without it.  With it, I felt indestructible. Such a huge difference.

Would never let my son play without one. IMO, it's a crime they aren't mandatory.

That was involuntary.  His whole face was spasming.

I know a lot of people think that was a clean hit.  I really have a problem with the fact Finley made the catch, two steps, being tackled and going to the ground and Gipson actually goes to the ground with his head down to deliver the hit.  Oh but he turned his head at the last second!  Who ****ing cares, he's already a missile at that point.

Debatable but bull**** nonetheless.
