Sad that he's not out there anymore. What a great play that was...
Loved Nick Collins. Must be the number. Loved Leroy too.
That 2010 Superbowl run included three pick 6 plays. Tramon against Matty Ice, BJ against lame backup stache Bears QB, and Collins against Big Ben
Enkpy.
DUDE! That has gotta be in the new X4 lexicon!!
BRILLIANT!!
Holy ****.q I need to stop piloting the internets before I have my morning vitamins.
Who is filling in for Hayward?
The guy who had a rookie camp that was nearly as good if not as good as Hayward's rookie one.
This is a GREAT thread! I followed the Packers since the mid 1960's, and as a receiver in high school my number was Boyd Dowler's 86. I got to meet Bart when they stayed in Winston Salem, NC preparing for their playoff game against Washington. Hence, my Jeep's front tag:

Without question. The greatest 15 yards I've ever watched an NFL ref walk off and never gave a flying f**k about.
Enough about #4. How about Nick Collins enshrinement in the Packer HOF! That standing ovation might go on for a while and draw a few tears. How much does Nick love GB? He still talks to Morgan about this being his time and to trust his instincts.
Thanks Nick. For everything.
I suffered through the 70's and 80s too. Even watched a few friends grow into understanding the joy and agnst being a fan was...
Awesome thread. I miss Collins.
BUT. We are completely being disregarded by the media this week and all preseason.
Good.
F-them.
You can try and dismiss the things the GBP organization has done for 20 years. But facts are facts.
Be a hater, see ya later.
I don't see that the Packers are being disregarded or ignored by all of the media but I see a lot of variation of what people are expecting. Some have picked the Packers to win the Super Bowl and some don't even see them making the playoffs. The last two playoff losses stick in people's minds. I think the big question is people disagree on whether they have improved or not, how the offensive line will perform, and how much of an impact Lacy will have. I can't imagine them missing the playoffs without key injuries happening but to go all the way I think they will have to shine in at least two of those three areas.
I was born in '59, so my formative years coincided with the Lombardi era perfectly. Like many others, I had to endure b&w TV (in a console cabinet that Dad had to whack on the side occassionally for improved reception/performance!) when we were even lucky enough to catch the Pack on TV.
I also had to scour the Monday newspaper for the boxscore of the games, and maybe even a paragraph or two for a game summary. And eagerly awaiting the preseason publications of various magazines to learn new players, and damn anybody who would write disparingly of the Packers, no matter how true it may be.
Next came the halftime highlights on MNF, then the proliferation of cable TV and Sportscenter (and eventually the Sunday night highlight shows on various channels), then Ray's Packer Report, and finally, the innernets.
Looking back, it's hard to imagine how the Packers ever got themselves so far off-track through the 70's and 80's, and I pray we never see the likes of them again. Yeah, we've been spoiled the last 20 years or so, but we payed a helluva price for the 20 years previous. But, through it all, from grade school to married life and beyond, people always knew I rooted for the Packers. And other posters are right on when they say no matter where you are, if you are wearing a Packers hat, t-shirt, or jacket, somebody will always make a comment or start a conversation with you. America is Packerland!

I have a framed poster of the Press-Gazette's headline with the forthcoming hug.
When you watch the replay of the play, Collins is in the end zone before #7 even completely stands up after getting knocked down by Howard Green.
