Which team tires first: the one that's done most of the defending, or the one with all the geriatrics?

Apparently, the one doing the defending. 0-3 from the spot?

The game also featured the highlight from the tournament. Ronaldo bawling like a baby ☺️

Gotta hand it to the Portugal goalie. He's 24 and in his first senior international tournament and he takes his team to the next level. The best part was that none of his saves were fingertips or barely touched; all three hit him smack in the hands. And they weren't terrible shots either. Diogo Costa just read the players exceptionally well and then had the athleticism and jump to get there. So fun to watch.

Now watching the US v Uruguay and the referee from hell...

Mexico was in a tougher group...USMNT once again shit the bed.

US Soccer is a fucking joke...it's what happens when you have no accountability.

Doubt they fire Turdhalter after this disaster, but whatever. 2 more years of the same. If they weren't hosting the WC, I'd have serious doubts about them qualifying under this ass-hat.

I would like to see them get rid of the Halter. I see nothing good on the horizon for this team. Get someone in there who has some imagination and can teach young guys. Use the WC to help drum up interest, bring more guys into camp so there's some real competition (these guys seem so complacent), bring in young guys, and bring the quality players together more often to train.

Look what Hayes is doing to the USWNT roster: no Morgan or Sauerbrunn, she switched some players' positions, and she added several younger players. I think that will refresh the team and tells the older players that their jobs and playing time are not a given.

Lamine Yamal is already the best playmaker in Europe. Has he turned 17 yet? Crazy! And unlike Messi and Ronaldo he actually defends.

Fedya, Germany is getting chances. This is not over.

Glad Germany lost given their cynical play especially in the first half. Toni Kroos should’ve been sent off, at least 4 yellow card offenses for him. That English ref had a blinder, yikes.

de la Fuente nearly gave the game away for Spain, bunkering in so much in the second half. Unai Simon with a MOTM performance for me.

The question for Spain moving forward is trying to generate enough pressure once Yamal and Williams get taken off as they inevitably will in the second half.
