Bundesliga is a great place for Kane to win some silverware. Look what it has done for guys like Lewandowski, Sadio Mane, Coutinho. Less physical league, less parity. Won't get beat up in league games so will be fresher for CL matches.

It's definitely a quality league, but isn't Premier League, and still behind La Liga. Definitely better than Serie A and Ligue 1 for sure though.

Damn...Spurs gonna Spur...double nut-punch in less than 7 days.

Big Ange is a hell of a coach...but they gotta address the shoddy defending pronto.

Eric Dier is a disaster. Ange kept him out as long as he could. Cheap owners need to back this coach.

Doesn't FIFA require the game to be played on natural grass?  They played on grass in the old Silverdome in 1994, IIRC.

Yes. It was a point of contention when the Women's World Cup was held in Canada in 2015, and all the matches were on artificial turf. It's so hard on the legs.

When the Sand Crawler/Stapler/Bird Killer/US Bank stadium opened in 2016, they had Chelsea-AC Milan play an exhibition and they put in 590 rolls of sod over the turf (which was protected by a barrier). It was an assinine way to do it as by the end of the match (I was there) it looked like an over-grazed pasture, but it was grass rather than ACL-killer turf.

That was terrible. Women are way more susceptible to ACL injuries than men, and turf makes ACL injuries even more likely.  The other reason not to play soccer on turf is the game looks unnatural. The ball bounces too high and close control on the dribble is more difficult, meaning more turnovers and an uglier game. There is a reason the EPL banned artificial pitches.

Watching everybody try to make excuses for Sam Kerr has been fun.

Her lawyers say she said "stupid white cop" instead of "white bastard." Either way, Kerr brought race into it. There's no excuse for it. Call the cop a "bastard," call them "pig," etc., but to bring race into it tells me more about Kerr than anything else. (I'm not a big Kerr fan at all, so...)

At least this doesn't happen in UEFA.

A row over a map of Morocco displayed on a football shirt deepened as the second leg of the Caf Confederation Cup semi-final between RS Berkane and USM Alger was called off on Sunday.

USM Alger refused to take to the pitch in Morocco because the strip the hosts were wearing showed a map of the country which included the disputed territory of Western Sahara.

Algeria, which cut off diplomatic ties with its North African neighbour in 2021, sees the extended map as a political provocation.

Morocco laid claim to Western Sahara in 1957, when it was still under Spanish colonial rule, and then annexed the territory in 1975.

The first leg on Sunday, 21 April had also been cancelled after Berkane had their kit confiscated by customs officials on arrival in Algeria and refused to wear an alternative shirt.

Liverpool and Arsenal choke and now City are in the driver’s seat in the prem.

Arse gonna win it because City will drop points at Spurs...we never win at Spurs, and Arse got goal differential in spades.

Total and complete shit show this season...getting rid of Gundogan and Mahrez, and not appropriately replacing them killed us. Haaland hurt for a while, Walker hurt for a while, we know Walks is nearing the end but have not been able to replace him appropriately. Rico Lewis is good...but he's a ways away.

Kalvin Phillips was a transfer failure.

Right now our best shot at silverware is FA Cup.

Well, Spurs can do their part and not star Son...he seems to always kill City...

Spurs just happen to be City's bogey...we schooled Arse last year twice. We should be able to pull out a 1-0 or 2-1 win at Spurs...but I am just not confident.

Q: What's Red and White and goes "beep, beep, beep?"

A: Arsenal...backing into a PL Title
