What irritates me is that this entire theory is primarily the work of one Scott Kacsmar.  While Kacsmar has recently been writing for Cold Hard Football Facts, Football Outsiders, etc., he's been arguing with football fans on KFFL's message board for many more years.  One thing has become clear over those years: while the guy attempts to argue in objection fashion, hiding behind manipulated statistics, he is incapable of being objective.  His arguments are fallacious.

Kacsmar has a history of starting with the conclusion that he wants to reach, and picking the data that only supports his conclusion.  On KFFL Kacsmar posts under the name "Still Swinging."  If you are in for a good laugh, check out some of his previous work (See, e.g., http://forums.kffl.com/threads...ng?highlight=Rodgers).  I'll give you a couple hints: he is a big fan of the Peyton Manning and the Steelers (especially Big Ben), and he hates Rodgers and the Pats (especially Tom Brady).  He will do anything to make excuses for those in his favor and discredit those he dislikes.  With that in mind, do you think the Packers' victory over the Steelers made him a bit more bitter?  Of course.

By the way, here is another great article that addresses this recent BS theory:  http://thebiglead.com/2013/09/...hen-trailing-in-4th/

Heh.  So you guys are going to go back to a post from 2008?  Really?  Because opinions cannot possibly change over five years?   The fact that a person would actually dig through five-year-old threads on another message board in attempt to ridicule another poster who is not even disagreeing with anyone on this board is pathetic.  Who has time for that?  Not me.  My family life, personal life, and job are far too demanding.

That's the only problem with x4.  You guys have some great posters on here (e.g., tit - thanks for all you do) and a great host (thanks, Boris).  But then you have some of your typical arrogant message board bad boys (e.g., Henry) that like to belittle and intimidate other posters if they don't think alike.

It's a shame, because these type of posters can bring down an otherwise good board.  Their message is simple: get in line and agree with us, or you will be subject to ridicule.  That approach to a message board does no good.  It accomplishes nothing.  It chills provocative thought and debate.  It is simple-minded.

But you see these type of guys on most boards.  Over the years I've come to realize that most of them have generally failed in life - i.e., post-high school, because I suspect that many of them fit into the "Glory Days" mold - so they utilize the internet message board in attempt to reclaim their glory and give their life more meaning.

It's really kind of sad, when you think about it.   What is your headstone going to say?  "He ran the best smack and beat down the most nonconforming posters on his favorite internet message board."   That's quite a legacy.

Life's too short.

1) You're arguing over the internet

2) You're arguing about football

The internet the wild west when it comes to debating. You better bring both guns loaded to defend your opinion. If you don't or can't, then you're going to get killed. The topic being football makes that 10x worse. Talking about football, even in real life, incites passionate arguments similar to what we see here at X4. My advice is to either come prepared to defend your opinion or grow a thicker skin.

You had time to write your manifesto...but you're too busy for a few clicks ? Right.

The most expeditious way to handle this for a well rounded, super busy, no ego person would have been to type..." I was wrong."

But you aren't a well- rounded no ego person are you Barrister ?

As far as falling in line, that's an absurd comment, one that any decent lawyer would refute in Debate 101 before the first bell rang

Have a take, don't suck and stand by what you post. All very simple things to do

And if in the future, you change your mind, then its just as simple to admit you were wrong. At least for some of us.

Others can't fathom the possibility that they aren't omniscient

Have a nice life asshole and if you can't handle Henry, then you've got bigger problems in life then your fragile self- esteem

X4, not for pussies

(or blowhards with fragile egos & tiny wankers)

And for the record, we're not all living in our Mom's basement as you so desperately need to believe. Wrong again smarty pants .

One post and life unravels.  I really must be a bad ass if I can make barrister write something that stupid in 2008 only to setup the cosmic dominoes leading to CaPF95 delivering the 5 finger death blow.

I AM QUANTUM FREE RANGE ASS HOLE!!!  FEEL MY POWER ACROSS SPACE AND TIME!!!!

Considering my other past interactions with barrister I have to believe he is a public defender in the Tijuana traffic court/Churro stand.

Speaking of silly christian zealots, does anyone else find it amusing that Christian Mingle advertises on the Science Channel?  Way to hit that target audience.

With a functioning brain, it is possible to: 1) recall a very spirited thread from 5 years ago and 2) type the words "Rodgers" and "clutch" into the search box on zbuds, hit the submit button and view the results in less than 10 seconds.  So, this lazy argument that ZOMG YOU HAVE NO LIFE OR JOB OR GIRLFRIEND is bizarre and it's silly.  I didn't have to visit a museum, search the dewey decimal system, and look at microfiche for hours on end in order to find the smoking gun, as it were.  It was rather simple.  Add in that I participated in that thread, and frankly, I recall it rather well that there was a group of posters there in Rodgers first year that were calling him not clutch repeatedly.

Now, move to the same rumblings of the same argument in 2013, and it sounds nearly identical.  Hence my starting of this thread.  Then, I found it funny that a person that led the charge that Rodgers is not clutch in 2008, now mocks the exact same arguments today.

You could have responded "Boy I was wrong!  I was still not aware just how stupid Favre was, and we went from 13-3 and NFCC to 6-10, so I was frustrated.  Good thing I was wrong as could be huh!"  Could have mocked it.  Could have joked. Could have said "boy guys like this had me hoodwinked in 2008, they were wrong then and they are wrong now" Could have done almost anything to look good.  Except play the "ZOMG YOU GUYS HAVE NO LIFE OR JOB OR GIRLFRIEND OR FUTURE CUZ YOU DUG UP STUFF ON THE INTERNET THAT MUST HAVE TAKEN MONTHS TO CRAFT AND THINK IT MAKES YOU BETTER!!!!"

Look, I have been wrong on lots of things.  I thought McCarthy was a bad hire.  I thought the Harold dude from "A Few Good Men" would become a huge star.  I thought Goo Goo Dolls were great in 1993.  I thought dancing at a work party earlier in the year was a good idea - trust me I've never been more wrong as the office whore/drunk decided to come up and dance with me.  It's OK to be wrong.  It's also OK to think differently.

I found it funny and ironic.  I am snarky as hell.  I joked about it.  *shrugs*

It's not sad that I snarkily pointed this out.  It's not sad that I took all of 10 seconds to find and link that thread.  It's sad that you couldn't say "my bad" and joke about it and move on.

The only one that seems like they are taking this all that seriously is you.  I post here to have fun.  Part of having fun with my guy friends is busting each other's balls from time to time.  My friends (I KNOW RIGHT I HAVE FRIENDS, WHO'D HAVE THUNK IT) do this all the time.  If one of my friends ripped on Rodgers all of 2008, I'd lambaste him repeatedly.

Sorry if somebody busting your balls slightly causes you to kneejerk into blanket, lazy stereotypes of what I am.
