Harvin, unlike Janis, is a proven NFL player.quote:Too fast not to use deep? You could say the same about Janis.
The Jets have something like $20M in cap space, and GM Idzik is trying to make life more difficult for Rex Ryan by importing a locker room cancer so that Idzik can fire Ryan at the end of the season.quote:If the Jets had anything close to a .500 record, I guess you could see why they'd make this trade. At 1-6, wtf's the point?
@JayGlazer: BREAKING: The JETS have just agreed with Seattle to a trade sending WR Percy Harvin to NY for conditional pick. FOX SPORTS has learned.
Holy crap! The backstory will be most interesting...
Helps the Packers so I'm all for it.
If it helps the Jets beat the f'n Pats, then I am all for it.
I'd wager that Harvin won't be on the active roster by the time the season is over. Since the Jets will in all likelihood continue to lose, the guy will melt down in spectacular fashion with the NY media prodding him.
I do not think the Jets are as bad as their record indicates. Their schedule thus far has been very tough. Harvin or not, I think the Jets will start winning some games.
Don't care about the Jets. Don't care what Harvin does or doesn't do while he's a Jet. I'm just glad he's a big enough POS that Seattle decided it best to jettison him now.
Schneider still has to answer to the extension he gave Harvin. Seattle is on the hook for the remaining $26 million guarantee. That's $3.125 million per game they just paid him.
Marshawn Lynch tweet:
Shawn Lynch@moneylynch
Damn they got my nigga....
I don't get the Janis stuff. They want him to be a WR and not enable him to be Corey Bradford. It would be tempting to have him perform that way short term, but long term it's inconsistent with what they want with a WR. It's exacerbated if he gets a scintilla of success with the short term plan and then you risk losing your potential stud. If he's a dud, yeah I get it.
Funny how this one is on Schneider, but all the successes are because of Carroll.
Things I only wish I'd written. From ESPN comments:
"Geno Smith will miss Harvin more than the Seahawks will."
That's gold Jerry.

Not from the sound of it. Schneider gave them an out and they're off the hook now. They rolled the dice, got a Lombardi, and when Harvin continued with his dickitude they shipped him off to Sijersia. Harvin may have a decent rest of the season as Ryan probably rides him like a rented mule until he breaks down, giving Harvin the touches he wants.
How big of a piece of garbage do you have to be when Pete Carroll washes his hands clean of you?
Harvin will be the Bears KO Returner next season once he's cut by the Jets.
Nope. He'll be one of Jerruh's boys. Mark it down.
He will always be a Viking at heart.
I see the Hawks no better than 11-5 now. Not good enough for home field, and certainly not enough to get them back to the dance. Safeties can creep up more, defenses can use an 8 man box more and dare Wilson to beat them through the air with the average weapons they have left.
Always suspected some mental illness with guy, his "migraines" in Minny, all of his "injuries"
in college at Florida he had an incident where he refused to run stadium steps as punishment & basically told his position coach to "F-off"...of course that great disciplinarian Urban Meyer did nothing about it....Rex Ryan's ego thinks he will be different with him. Reminds me of an old saying in coaching...."A leopard can paint paint his spots, but when it rains they always show through"
Just confirmation of what most x4 posters said at the time he was acquired- a very stupid move by the Seahawks.
What a joke! Harvin bad news! All the media hype about him and the love. Nobody had the guts to report what he really is...a Trouble-maker. Vikes found out and the SeaHawks too. Good for Rex Ryan, he is getting exactly what he deserves.
@LanceZierlein: Probably most telling text I received regarding Harvin trade:, "Time bomb. If Pete gets rid of a guy, your radar better be on high alert"
I thought it was a bear that **** in the woods in the Pope's funny hat that caused it to rain, thereby exposing said spots?
Her name is percy for God's sake.
queens and percy deserve each other.
My coach used to say, "you can lead a camel toe to water, but that's when you let the worms out of teh teh closet."
So at one time the Vikes had Moss, Peterson, Sharper, and Harvin on the same team? That is amazing.
^^^^^^^
Is it any wonder that the vikings have had more players arrested than any other team?
2008 Florida Gator roster included:
Percey, Tebow, the Pounceys, Janoris Jenkins, Aaron Hernandez, Cam Newton, and Riley Cooper. Led by Urban Meyer.
This hasn't been a documentary why exactly?
Wonder what would have happened if Cooper tried to fight the Pounceys and Hernandez.
After accusing them of stealing his laptop. Word is Percey was socking up WRs at Florida too. So if he's socking up Tate and Baldwin in Seattle I think I've pegged his long range plan for acquiring playing time.
Im not saying this is confirmed. I'm just saying it's going to be harder for Eric Decker to conceal a black eye.
I just realized that Seattle is a really dum spot to try to hide your spots with paint - it rains constantly there.
Percy should have gone with the funny hat instead. He can **** in the woods with a camel toe all he wants - no one looks twice at that.
Its common knowledge that painting leopards have opposable thumbs. Not African or European leopards.
I think the saying that best applies here. If you sock a guy up in the forest and no one is around to hear it will the black eye be visible in the Super Bowl photo?
Golden Tate is a tool. It seems the Seahawks have a shed full of them and that is part of the problem. You can put up with Axis II issues if you don't have a coven of players with them..even our Pals in Chicago manage Brandon Marshall.
I agree that it opens up cap room for Wilson and this is the beginning of their inevitable cap problems that come with winning.
They may have a more pleasant locker room, but this will hurt them on the field.
And not just Tate.

Multiple outlets confirmed the report -- Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times also reported Harvin got in an altercation with Baldwin during the week leading up to the final preseason game this year at Oakland. Both players apparently ended up with cuts on their faces and were excused from practice.
Zierlein also reported a "near fight w/ #3 in '14" -- i.e. Harvin nearly got in a fight with Russell Wilson. If you do something to make Russell Wilson nearly fight you, you're doing something wrong. No one is more level or low key.
I agree with the Wilson comment. How does someone get riled up enough to get into a fight with Wilson?
Harvin would be fine if he didn't have to work with other people and, like Jennings, he could throw himself the ball.

Incredible talent with incredible headaches. The two coordinators were Dan Mullen and Charlie Strong. 30 guys who spent time on NFL rosters. National champs.

Meyer probably had his breakdown keeping many of these guys out of jail.
People wonder why superstar college and NFL players get away with stuff? How many careers were made by this group? Do Mullen and Strong get where they are without coaching this talent?
Read this morning the hags will absorb a cap hit of over $7 mil in 2015 due to this trade. That would be in addition to any other dead money cap hits they already might incur.
"By trading Harvin after June 1, the Seahawks will carry $1.412 million in cap space this year from his $2.4 million annual signing bonus proration. Next year, theyâll have $7.2 million in dead money attributed to Harvin."
So at one time the Vikes had Moss, Peterson, Sharper, and Harvin on the same team? That is amazing.
Amazing? The word I'd choose to use is "normal" (for the Vikings)
Beast mode appearently very upset his BFF was traded. A couple other hags not happy about it as well. Yep it seems dear old Percy was helping cause a schism in the locker room. And, it may still fester after the trade.
Trading problem player Percy may create a problem with Marshawn
Schneider has won a SB and done a very good job overall, but the Harvin move is one I just will never understand. I can see rolling the dice on him and taking a chance, but not at the price they paid.
