What I liked:

  • Raji with his best game since 2010
  • Eliott making two sensational plays on a defense desperate for playmakers
  • Starks bouncing back from that bad fumble to play a good all around game, including pass protection
  • Ty Montgomery and Richard Rodgers for stepping up when the offense needed a boost
  • Tom Clements for making the adjustments and calling a great game in the fourth quarter
  • Goes without saying, but 12. He's down 27, 87, and his right tackle

What I didn't like:

  • Tackle play, especial #69. If Rodgers wasn't so good about moving in pocket, he would have been dropped about 8 times
  • Davante Adams. Sure, he was banged up today, but he just disappears. Doesn't seem like he can get open.
  • Read option defense. Wilson could have done that all game…everyone crashed and let him get to the outside. Better iron that out before Kaepernick goes for 190 on them in a few weeks
  • Wasted timeouts. Unacceptable to burn three TO's in first quarter of game, with two of those coming on defense. Cost them four points before end of half because they couldn't run in that situation. Also forfeited their ability to use a challenge for most of the first half.

  • I do not get why we cannot and will not run screen passes.  We have DL simply pinning their ears back and bullrushing the passer, and for whatever reason we refuse to do anything to try and slow them down or make them think.  Baffling.

DL are so sophisticated at sniffing out screens. I know exactly what you mean, but this factor can't be denied. I'll add, they ran off a bunch of clock. Almost 4 minutes to ice the game. Loved it!!!

I was one of them. Dude played great. Feel very confident with him at RT until Bulaga is healthy.

I wouldn't say he played great.  Rodgers pocket awareness and escapability made up for a lot.  If that's Tom Brady or Carson Palmer, we are talking about him giving up at least 3 sacks.

He didn't embarrass himself against a very good pass rusher.

The general play for an OT is to take the tackle and push them outside and give the QB room to step up.

I thought Back and Barclay did an amazing job of that all game.

When your tackles get bull rushed, your QB has nowhere to go.  12 had lots of nice lanes to slide into and make a play today.

After Elliot, I give Barclay the next game ball.

++

* GAD ZOOKS! Who saw this type of coverage coming when Zook was named ST coach?

* Crosby is money.

* Welcome to the big-time, Ty Montgomery.

* Welcome to more playing time, Jayrone. Dude is rangy and just seems to make plays; that RB never knew what hit him and Wilson wished his WRs had hands like that. (ok, the one guy had a good catch...)

* OL hung in there all night long.

* DL got it back together in 4Q.

* AR shut up those naysayers who said he can't bring a team back against a good team in the 4Q.

--

* Against better WRs, we might have been in hot water.

* HaHa you dropped the ball!

* TO usage. Ugly.

* I really wanted MM to go for it on 4th and 1 in the second... maybe I would have been wrong since Lacy was out, but bring in that beef package and let Kuhn leap it in.

Hot diggedy! Petey can **** himself!

And the challenge factor never came about.

On top of that, would you rather have a TO called to correct a bad D, or just have them have a great play and maybe a game changing TD.

We had to call a few TOs early, but they never hurt us.

I call that amazing ballsy coaching and well done.

Burning three timeouts in the first quarter is "ballsy coaching and well done"? I think it's poor time management. I think it's somewhat of a false choice to say would you rather they call timeout vs. allow a game turning play. Sure, but you know what would be even better? Having the right personnel out there on 3rd and 12 so you could defend a play without burning a timeout.

Regarding it not hurting us, um, yeah, it actually did hurt us. We had a first and goal at the one with under 20 seconds left. If you have a TO, you could run the ball there. Since they didn't have a TO, they had to throw, and Seattle has all the incentive to hold and commit PI there since there's virtually no yardage penalty and time ticks off. So yeah, it cost them four points.

And no, it didn't cost them a challenge, but that's just how it worked out. Next time maybe it will burn them. I don't think it's wise to forfeit your challenges for a quarter.

It was a great win and there were a lot of positives, especially given the injuries. But we don't need to applaud their timeout management in the first half.

+'s

- Team had "lost" 3 straight but honestly they should have won 2 of those games vs Seattle. Finally the score reflected that

- Godgers. Having his mobility back is so huge to the team

- Loved seeing them get Ty Montgomery involved on offense. Get him the ball and let him go to work in open space. YAC ability is a strength of his

- Starks played great. Really stepped up with Lacy going down

- Elliott! 2 big plays to really change momentum in th egame and then seal the game. Love it

- Damarious Randall lookin good in coverage again!

- BJ Raji. Wow. Don't know if it was Seattle's OL or what but dude wrecked havoc out there. Was consistently providing interior rush and was stuffing running lanes

- Crosby. 2012 feels like forever ago now. Dude's money

- ST coverage. Lockett is an electric returner and they did an excellent job bottling him up

- Run D. They contained Lynch all game

-'s

Tackle play was less than inspiring. Barclay did a decent enough job but Bakht was brutal. Rodgers mobility really bailed them out. Doiesn't get any easier next week with Houston and Hali coming to town

- Injuries. Boyd's injury looked bad but luckily nothing too severe after that. No clue how long Lacy will be out but at least X-rays were negative and it's likely just a bad sprain

- playcalling on last drive. Got the FG to put them up 2 scores but I hated the weak ass playcalling inside the 10 there. Had 2nd and goal and they hand it off and then on 3rd and goal they have Rodgers running. Go for the kill and try for the TD...forget about the time

Liked, D-Line penetrating including Datone stepping over a chop block to make a tackle for loss!  Haven't read much about Pennel but thought he held up well too.  Can't wait for Guion to get back.

Disliked,.................

Liked, O-Line playing against stout opponent keeping A-Rod clean while opening some nice lanes.  Nice to see U-71? back, J C Tretter playing TE for power runs.

Liked, A-Rod is more focused than ever in spite of romance demands.

That's gotta be tough! Dude brought it!!!

Like: Ted Thompson keeping 3 RBs on the 53 man roster! Hopefully, Lacy can get healed up, but nice to know we have Alonzo Harris if need be for Monday's game against KC.

There is a lot to like.

So true Troy. SEA was going to get their points. Glad it was only 17. That is still a very dangerous team that we beat yesterday. HUGE win. GREAT performances by our Packers D, by many players. That was awesome to see.

YATittle, SEA was indeed hanging all over our WRs. The series before the half was the worst. Pass Interference and Holding all over the place with no calls in the end zone. An interesting bit of coaching though on that by SEA. They had nothing to lose, and everything to gain keeping it to 3 pts on a FG rather than giving up a TD. Seems like an old Belicheat trick...

Like

-Starks

-Fourth quarter offensive adjustments

-Eliot and Montgomery Both earned more snaps

-Run defense

-Crosby and really ST in general

-Cobb Tough as nails

-AR Performed like AR for a change against the Seahawks

Didn't like

-Bit of anxiety in the third quarter with Wilson hurting the Packers with the read-option

-Burning of timeouts

-Tackle play not very good but bailed out by AR's mobility and the play of the interior line

Dix led the team with 9 tackles including 7 solo.

I have to think Morgan played a role in that.

Sam Shields also recovered nicely from the turd he laid in the Bears game.

I know it's hard, but try to follow along.  When it's 2nd and goal from the 1 with 13 seconds left, a PI penalty or defensive holding penalty doesnt hurt the defense.  If 7 seconds run off and the Offense gains half the distance, it's a win for the D.

Its possible the Seattle D knew that and coached up their DB's to play accordingly.   It has nothing to do with Sea playing dirty and everything to do with playing smart.   That said, they are a bunch of dirty cock holsters.

They were throwing there if they had 3 TOs.

Maybe they run, maybe they don't, what really matters is Sea has to respect the run.
