Alex Van Pelt said after the game that in practice, if there's a defensive offside or other infraction, Rodgers insists on continuing the play out, running a scramble drill always ending in a shot play of some type.

Practice makes perfect, even improvisatory practice. Chasing perfection, catching excellence.

Practice doesnt make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect.

Thanks Vince.

But that pass...

Honestly, I'd be pissed if I were him too.  Fans should be pissed as well.  What kind of team trades their pro bowl center on a terrible o-line PLUS a first round pick for a pass catching TE they don't plan on using in the pass game?  It's just ridiculous, made even worse b/c the receivers on that team are terrible.  Graham should be getting 10 targets a game, minimum.

And it's one thing for Graham to pick the Seahawks and have it turn out bad, it's another when Graham had no choice in the matter.  If the Seahawks miss the playoffs and Graham has a bad year, he may refuse to play next year until they release him.

I see the Seahawks' problems continuing for a bit. Wilson seemed to be all over the media over the spring/summer, including a story in SI on how they got rid of the SB boondoggle -- all because of Wilson. It came off as "Wilson the Team Savior." To say nothing of how he is "the chosen one." So much of what Wilson has said and done has to come off as BS and egotistic -- even for that team.

Do I see the Bears winning? Unfortunately, no. But I think it will be closer than expected.

If there are 2 people on Earth I want to beat soundly, it's Carroll and Sherman. And they both took it up the wazoo Sunday night. What a great week to be a Packers fan!

Graham needs to get open more. He's used to Brees throwing him open so he never really had to do much on his own, but Wilson isn't that type of QB. Wilson follows the system and the plays to a T and while  QBs like Brees and Rodgers' brand of improv is throwing difficult passes in tight spaces, Wilson's brand of improv is scramble and either run or his the wide open received. If Graham isn't wide open or even a little open then he's not getting the ball, that's his fault. He's the most physically gifted TE in the league and he can't scramble around and get open? Bull.

Just like with Harvin, Seattls got the bright idea that they would acquire an uber talented player to change the offense and it turns out that player is a wiener. This feels like they did a deal with no thought to how Graham would fit or how they would use him, they just knew he was shiny and they liked him...and they traded away a pro bowl center and a first round pick.

Two for flinching?

Here's what Kam Chancellor texted Stephen A. Smith: "Ima go help my teammates that are understanding of my position and the ones who aren't. God forgives all, why can't i? Time to help us get back to the big dance . I can address business after the season. Me and Marshawn started a mission 2 years ago. I can't let my Dawg down....Real talk."

I was shocked to see how average that secondary was without Chancellor on Sunday (last week too).  If there front 7 wasn't so good, the Packers hang up 35 - and that's with just 1 great receiver.  So I understand why Chancellor is pissed: Sherman and Thomas get all the credit for being the best CB and S in the NFL while Chancellor was just a piece of that unit.  Now you see that it's probably Chancellor who is the best player in that secondary and Thomas/Sherman are only as good as Chancellor lets them be.  Problem is that's not how they're being paid and it's pissing Chancellor off.

This team is hanging on this year but I don't see how this works going forward.  They might have the worst depth of any team in the league and it's only getting worse.  Bennett and Chancellor will hold out again next year, while another bevy of free agents will want to get paid (Okung, Rubin, Mebane, Irvin, plus their whole WR corp).  Plus you have to deal with Lynch and his $11.5m cap hit next year (will he be worth that at age 30?).  Not even Lynch can run behind that mess of an o-line.

EDIT: Thought I'd add that they're paying Cary Williams $6m per year to be their second CB......lot of money in that secondary for their hopes to hinge on just one player.

That's easy. Pez. Cherry-flavored Pez. No question about it.

That's easy. Missin' the money. He's not forgiving nobody. That locker room has to be real interesting...
