to Wednesday or Thursday.....this weather system moving into Green Bay is just nuts, and the NFL shouldn't let ANYONE, players, coaches, staff, and fans be in it period.

avn-850.jpg This is the infamous polar vortex in full color.  YIKES.

This is the 7 day forecast for Green Bay.

The geniuses at NFL could have made it the early game on Sunday but ratings for Green Bay/San Fran will be far greater than Bengals/Chargers. Since both road teams are west coast teams somebody in Cali had to get a 10:00 A.M. game.  More San Fran fans than Charger fans made them the late game.  There was never a chance Packers/Whiners was going to be the 1st game on Sat.  It's all about the TV $$$$$$.

I'm not trying to be an Internet bad ass I swear, but I really don't think the NFL should consider moving or even delaying  any games due to weather unless there is an inherent threat of death, ie. a lightening storm or something. Bad weather cold or otherwise has been part of the fabric of the game and has brought with it incredible history. I don't think what we are talking about here compares to the safety of the game as it relates to helmet to helmet hits, etc.

The early game on Sat. has the same starting time as the late game on Sun.

Coulda woulda shoulda moved it to today.   Everything is going to hurt a lot more tomorrow.

Turnovers and field position likely decide it.  Probably not going to be a decent shot at a FG over 40 yards.   And even that will be tough.

Our kicker has the leg to get a 50 yarder at the end of the game if necessary.

It's football. Not lame ass baseball. We play in all weather (except lightning).

Get used to it because the Super Bowl will be cold too.

Looking forward to a great game.

Actually, Goldie, it may not be getting closer to that point than we think.

I can see the NFL expanding its' flexible scheduling to accommodate inclement weather.

Not for rain, although they must have a contingency of some kind for lightning/severe weather, but for these brutally cold/extreme snow or ice conditions games.

"In order to enhance the fan experience", etc., etc.

Where did you play your pro ball?

I am to. I hope that everyone at the game is safe. It will be cold enough at home.

I've told myself this and been burned far too many times in regard to the Packers playing cold weather games at Lambeau. Barring the unlikely event that the 49ers totally puss out tomorrow, it's going to be decided by which team has the best game plan and how they go about executing it.

What's the over under on how long until the Fox cameras show fans either bare-chested (if it's male fans) or wearing just a bikini top (female fans)?

Ok, I just don't wAnt any guys to get hurt.  in these temperatures stuff happens, and it ain't good.     We can all say "play"....... but I can't even a walk our neighbors dog   because it's so goll dang cold.

My brother up in Wisconsin told me that they are allowing the fans to bring sleeping bags if they want to.

I know it's all about the ratings, but why didn't the NFL look at the extended forecast last week for Green Bay,  and see that today (Saturday) was going to be a decent day to play the game instead of tomorrow?

I would think sleeping there overnight would only make things worse.

I did not check, but I would think that Philly might be as cold on Sunday as well

What about those Snuggies with the built-in booties that you see advertised every winter?  I think you can even get them with an NFL logo, too.

BTW...I think we all say "we" when talking about the Packers.  I know I do....same with Badgers, Bucks, and Brewers.

Also, if anyone has played the game of football at all (Pop Warner; High School, etc.)...I'm sure there were games that you had played in "inclement" weather (except lightning of course...maybe a tornado, too...ha...)   I don't think it's only the pro's.  Although I think only the pro's play this late in the year where this type of cold is present.  Unless it's September in the Canadian Football League.
