Early dagger? We are fucked now.
Just win one FUCKING GAME!! ððž
Back home to wrap it up. Always wanted them to do it at home whether it was with 2 weeks to go or 2 games to go.

I said âIfâ!
If you are going to the game tonight , get there early. BOGO beer from gates open through the first inning. Watch the Crew bat around the order 3 or 4 times the 1st inning.
Now there is a dagger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just his homers in the post season. After that, ADIOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Packer fan/ Reds fanâĶCongrats to the Brewers again winning the division. Sure is nice to see the Cards down. Doubt that lasts long. Survey , regarding a Reds player who you may hate. Do you think Joey Votto is HOF worthy or not? Just curious. Good luck in the playoffs!
Nice average. Decent power. Decent defense. Doesnât jump out as Hall of Famer to me, though.

Before Moneyball, probably not. But given the new appreciation for walks, he has a decent chance. I think the comparison that fits the best is Dwight Evans. They'll up with roughly the same career counting stats in terms of total hits and home runs with Evans playing a lot more games. Both walked a lot. Votto has a significantly higher overall OBP because of a better batting average, but Evans has more RBIs. That balances Evans' superior defense. Votto has won a gold glove at first base, but Evans was one of the best defensive outfielders of all time and won 8 gold gloves.
I'd vote for him, but unfortunately, it's tougher for a guy that never played in a major media market.
Here we GO!!!!!!!!!!! Walk to Yelich, single by Contreras, double by Santana. 1-0 CREW!!!!!!!!!!!!! And now Canha HBP BASES LOADED> OOOPS< took the HBP away. Fucking ESPN!!
Here's the stats on Joey Votto's HOF chances. He's right at the standards for an average HOF first baseman.

I saw the interview. Rowdy was laughing about it and said Donaldson is a great clubhouse presence. Donaldson said something like, "everybody knows who I am" when someone asked him about greeting the players.
He did say it took Burnes 4 days to greet him when he came over from Toronto. Nothing serious about it.
Wasted opportunity there. 2nd and 3rd, no outs, 4, 5, and 6 hitting coming up. Didn't get it done.

Yep, and then the Cardinals go up in the top of the next inning.
They get a 2 out extra base hit with men on 1st and 2nd. We can't get a single in 3 tries with both men in scoring position.
Cubs already up 5 on the Braves. They are tied with AZ who are losing to the White Sox.
Who cars? Votto is a bum.
Not looking good tonight. They have two more with the Cards after this, but obviously they do not want to get this to a point where the Cubs control their own destiny if they can sweep the Brewers to close out the season.
The big thing is they want momentum going into the playoffs and it's starting to look like they'll be backing in.
Counsell is gone. Burnes and Woodruff are gone either in offseason or in 2024. I get the feel good vibe but this group should feel confident about nothing.
The bravado of fans is undeserved. It is the Brewers we are talking about here.
How fitting they play STL. A team that is out of it but owned their asses for 40 years.
This team plays AZ or a cocky Cubs team in R1 and they are fucked.
This is such a Brewers thing and yes Mark Attanasio can fuck off. Sell the team to someone that actually cares. The bad mojo kicking Stearns and Counsell to the curb will bite them in the ass guaranteed.
I always thought Counsell would retire as a Brewer because of his roots, including his father working in the clubhouse for years. I just can't see him uprooting from Milw. and going to NY. I wouldn't be surprised if he retired.
The Brewers are definitely getting the Cubs or AZ unless the Marlins or Reds get into the playoffs somehow.
Counsell deserves better. Stearns deserved better. Over what, a few million? To a loser wannabee owner? Attanasio doesnât fucking care. Fuck him!
The negative vibes alone are going to kill this team.
Damn Tschmack! That's an early dagger call on the season!
I'm just glad BK wasn't here to see this.
Well, it was a good run I guess.
At least the 'Crew carried us to football season.
May be a little early for projections but Steele is going tonight for the Cubs. Assuming 4 days rest heâll go Sunday and the wouldnât be available until Friday unless he goes in 3 days rest.
Of course if the Cubs clinch a playoff spot before Sunday heâll rest and be ready for game 1 of the WC round.
The baseball gods never forgive or forget.
A lot of speculation out in last 24 hours about Counsell being done as skipper. We all know Burnes and Woody wonât stay. Add in the arrogant bites at the apple narrative and itâs not a good recipe. Sorry to piss on the parade but the karma matters.
@Packy posted:Do you think Joey Votto is HOF worthy or not?
One of my favorite non Brewers.
Not HOF though
Atlanta fighting back 6-5 Cubs, bottom of 7, 1 out.
Let there be hope!

As long as they have Burnes, Woodburn, and Peralta starting games and Williams closing them, they have a chance. Not as much as they would have had Attanasio spent some money the last couple of years to try to maximize this window. He didn't and that sucks.
But I'm going to try to enjoy this last run. I agree Attanasio is going to sell off these guys in the off-season, but at least he took enough crap last year after selling off Hader for almost nothing that he didn't do the same to Burnes and Woodruff this year.
But he doesnât care! Not one bit.
He ran off Stearns. Now it appears heâs running off Counsell. Itâs bullshit.
Cubs drop a fly ballâĶBraves lead.
As routine as a fly ball can get too.

Iâm going to try to enjoy the next few weeks. Maybe he signs Woody and we get something for Burnes.

Up 6-0 in the sixth inning, Cubs lose 6-7 on a two run error in the 8th.
Cubs chok!

Woody's got a rag for an arm.
And nothing left in the holster.

He doesnât care enough to make the playoffs 6 out of 7 years. The Yankees should care so much.
