The Vikings have had 2 seasons worth of luck and good fortune.  I mean, they’ve won against several backup QBs and they’ve been healthy and BS like kicking 61 yard FGs isn’t sustainable.

I mean, we do know their history right?  Forget the 4 SB losses, you have the 1998 15-1 team, 41-0 donut, getting destroyed by Philly and Foles, Brent pondering pondering the INT loss to the Aints, the loss to Seattle where dude missed a chip shot FG and hell Nate Poole wasn’t even a playoff game.

Of course it will blow up in their faces come playoff time.  Destiny is a bitch when it includes continuously sucking or choking or getting boat raced in the postseason.  That’s what they do.  Buffalo isn’t far behind.

Regarding the other post-Christmas Eve game: The Broncos looked like a dumpster fire on meth as the Baker Mayfield led Rams made mincemeat out of them.
It's reaching the point where Nathaniel Hackett's tenure with Denver may be in jeopardy.  Either way, they are likely stuck with Russell Wilson for the next few seasons.

Hackett fired

STATEMENT FROM OWNER & CEO GREG PENNER
"On behalf of our ownership and organization, I want to
thank Nathaniel Hackett for his dedication as head coach
of the Denver Broncos. We sincerely appreciate Nathaniel's
efforts and wish him and his family all the best in the future.
"Following extensive conversations with George and our
ownership group, we determined a new direction would
ultimately be in the best interest of the Broncos. This
change was made now out of respect for everyone.

"Moving forward, we will carefully evaluate every aspect of
our football operations and make whatever changes are
necessary to restore this franchise's winning tradition.
"I will lead our head coaching search with support from our
ownership group and George, whom I have confidence in
as our general manager. As we begin the process of
selecting our next head coach, we remain focused on
playing competitive football to finish the season on a
positive note."

Whoever gets the Denver job next has to be able to work with Russell Wilson.

The dead cap charges the next 3 years are 107 million, 85 million, and 50 million.

A first-ballot HOF QB 5 years younger than Rodgers and 11 years younger than Brady went from making the Pro Bowl 9 of his first 10 years in the NFL to being the worst QB in the NFL this year.

And they gave up what will be a top 5 pick in the 2023 draft (and their second rounder which will be between 35-40). After giving up their 1st, 2nd, and 5th rounders in 2022.

Only question with Hackett is if they would wait until the end of the season.

Has any coach that ever worked with Rodgers in Green Bay done well anywhere else? Hackett, McAdoo, Philbin. Did any ever make the playoffs?

In contrast, assistant coaches that worked with Favre were incredibly successful: Andy Reid, Gruden, and Mariucci, among others, all had playoff success.
