Sunday could be a running back kind of game. Packers RBs have 20 TDs this season, most in the NFL. The 49ers’ 15 TDs from running backs are tied for third most. However, the Packers have done it much more cost effectively because their backs are on rookie contracts. They have $934,000 guaranteed committed to their RBs, second-fewest in the NFL, while the 49ers have $35 million in guaranteed money committed to their running backs, the fourth-most according to ESPN Stats & Info.

Rodgers is still pissed that they passed on him.

"How disappointed are you that you will not be a 49er?" He responded, "Not as disappointed as the 49ers will be that they didn’t draft me."

McVince!!!

According to Tim Kawakami of The Athletic, who thought that the 49ers should have taken Rodgers with the No. 1 overall pick at the time, McCarthy and quarterbacks coach Jim Hostler ripped into Kawakami, saying he didn’t understand football for claiming that Rodgers should have been the top pick in the draft.

No wonder Rodgers kept changing the plays!

I'll be absolutely floored if Kittle can't go. They've been saving him for this game.

Deebo & Sanders might not make it. Looks like Staley is out too.

Friday tells the tale of the tape.

I don't GAF....just as long as the Packers play to their capabilities & not that shit show we saw vs. the Chargers. Let the chips fall where they may.

No 8-2 team has ever missed the playoffs in the 17 years the NFL has spent under its current 32-team structure.

That's the equivalent of saying "Dagger" during a game. Don't jinx us!

The fact that the Packers have the Redskins and Giants coming up really helps the odds, though.

As long as they don't play down to the competition.

Preach it. At least Ron Wolf admitted they did a bad job giving Favre weapons.

It's hard to win Super Bowls, especially with an inept FO and HC.  That whole regime should have been shown the door after Seattle.  Oh, and Dom after making CK relevant.

Thanks Murph, Ted and Mike.

Go Pack!

It's frustrating that TT, MM, and DC could never duplicate the success of 2010-2011 but I totally understand why they all lasted a little beyond their "expiration" dates.  When you administrate a team that wins 19 games in a row combined regular/postseason and included in those 19 wins is a Super Bowl title, I think you deserve the benefit of the doubt for a long time.

It turned out that they all changed (some due to health, some due to complacency), the NFL changed, and it left all 3 of them behind the times, but I can see why they lasted so long in terms of keeping their jobs.  In hindsight, yes, each of those 3 should have been replaced earlier, but these are human beings that accomplished an awful lot.  Time to move on and just hope that the current management is as great as those guys all were pre-2012.

KICKING SITUATION

When Gould initially hurt his quadriceps two weeks ago, it was thought he’d only be out one or two games. Now the 49ers face the prospect of having Chase McLaughlin kicking for a third straight game.

“You’ve got to be so careful with quads with a kicker. We’ve got be very careful with it,” Shanahan said. “You can’t push it with a kicker. It’ll set him back too long if he tweaks it.”

Mike Clemens was on late yesterday and said "it didn't look good" that Kittle would play. I don't know if that's inside info or speculation.

But, as big of a game as this is, I wouldn't be putting the best offensive weapon they have on the field if it risks him injuring it worse for playoffs. Like Davante Adams, 49ers have to think long-term.

And remember when Adams returned against the Bolts, he was fairly quiet. It wasn't until the Panthers he looked like his old self. Same thing could happen even if Kittle comes back after being off nearly a month.

That Kittle sub looked pretty good against the Cards.

That would be because the Cardinals rank DEAD LAST in pass defense giving up 297.5 yards per game through the air. They are terrible.

Marcedes Lewis would look like he's 25 again playing against them.

“:A really , really young       Suzy Kolber  “     and this is exactly why I can not stand Joe Namath......saw him at some game that she was a sideline reporter, he was loaded, and was saying, “I wanna kiss you” to her.  From then on, I turn the channel when he’s on doing his Medicare shit.  *puke*

Joe is in the conversation for most overrated Hall of Famer in my book.  A NY celebrity in a fur coat who had a great prognostication at just the right time in NFL and American history.

He plays in Buffalo and he ranks behind wings in the cities legacy.

I think you're missing the point Boob Man (don't go changin').   You could be the prime specimen of masculinity and you still wouldn't have a chance.

Ahhh yes a young Suzy Kolber.  I think she still looks pretty darn good and I would let her get lucky.

As for getting rid of the previous regime I think the most critical mistake they made was not getting rid of Ernest Capers sooner. I think if there is guilt to be put on anyone its that they kept him employed WAY to long.

In hind sight perhaps they should have been let go after the Seattle debacle but at the time I think we could go back and think that the Packers at the time were in a good spot.
