Doug - Exactly.

PackLandVA - It's far from a meaningless game.   You don't want them getting a sliver of confidence.   They need to know that the Bears lose to the Packers, that's just how it's going to go for them.

They know this. One game won’t change that or give them a “sliver of hope”. They’ve beaten the Packers a hand full of times in the last three decades only to have any “hope” quickly dashed.

And I think the Packers, starters or backups, win this game (unless LaFleur chooses not to care about the outcome).

For sure. Can't do dollar store rope. I can only assume it has to support 300lbs. Might snap. Good call.

Dollar General duct tape works awesome for hanging outside Christmas lights. Holds up to weather well.

I'm torn on how much to play the starters. Defense sit and protect whoever, but we're going to need the offense to get in a groove for the playoff run and be able to go toe to toe with the high scoring offenses if we're going to have any chance.

I'd really like 10 and the passing game have a get right game with methodical drives, go up a couple scores, and earn their sit downs early in the third quarter.

I greatly dislike the discourse about them needing a #1 WR. I think they have more than enough pieces for every position group on offense to do whatever they need to, they all just need to come together and play to the top of their abilities.

I'm more anxious / nervous about this game than I was the Vikings game.   Playoff seeding, meh...  Keeping our foot on the Bears throat means much more than that to me

Me too! Since our winning the last meeting, was because we blocked a FG attempt, that if made, would have handed the bears the win, yes, Im anxious. We need to dominate them, at Lambeau on Sunday. We are currently 1-4 in our division. Despite losing to only three teams, in the League.

I don’t like the discourse that we need a #1 WR either, but the fact is, we need one.  Can’t rely on Watson.  We have Reed, but he disappeared this year, and after him, they’re just guys.  The Vikings, Lions, and Eagles each have a true #1 and a very good #2.  Obviously, it helps.

Reed is a guy that you can scheme to stop. One of the weaknesses noted even in college is that he struggles to get separation (see link below). MLF schemed him open during the first part of the season and he's very elusive once he has the ball in his hands, but teams adjusted to the schemes and he's much less of a factor.

Sometimes the scouts know what they are doing. These are the profiles of the Packers WRs. All of the WRs besides Watson projected as #3-#4 NFL WRs coming out of college.

Watson: https://www.nfl.com/prospects/...91-b680-d3a3d3536d62 (Round 1-2 projection)

It's like having a bunch of James Jones's playing together. These guys are a lot better than the one year in the mid-2010s when Nelson was out, Adams was playing on one leg, and Janis!, Abbrederis, Allison, and Trevor Davis were out there. Either that or they aren't that dissimilar to that and MLF can actually scheme them open with motion and play design since he doesn't have to defer to AR's desire for no presnap motion.

I disagree. Adams wasn’t a one until he was. The big problem is lack of speed. When Watson is out the defense can play a step or two closer to the LOS and take away the intermediate routes. Love needs to look to outlets a little quicker. When Musgrave gets up to speed it also will help a bunch.

Watson’s weaknesses:

Occasionally mistimes leaps to the throw.       Catch focus is below average.

The scouts were pretty accurate there.

I said it and I keep saying it, Love needs that go to clutch WR1 and anything they have on that team isn’t it

I think Love needs to look for Kraft early & often. Musgrave too. Cheat codes

Walk through practice today.

DL Devonte Wyatt practicing Wednesday for #Packers after leaving MN game.

Not practicing: LB Quay Walker, WR Christian Watson, CB Jaire Alexander, S Evan Williams, S Zayne Anderson, DL Brenton Cox, T Andre Dillard, G Elgton Jenkins.

Reed is a guy who can be used to exploit a bad matchup with scheme, not a #1. That’s all of their receivers. They simply don’t have “that guy” who wins consistently even against a good matchup.

It's not just lacking a WR1, it's also lacking any vet presence.  Who are they learning from other than the coaches and their snaps?

When TT had that group as a constant train of success for a decade, when a new guy was drafted, they always had high quality vets in front of them.  Youth is great but I think this bunch could really benefit from vet #2 who's had consistent success and can be counted on to either get open on 3rd and 4 or run like a deer to pull the safeties out of the middle of the field when Watson is in the tub.

Vikings are playing really well right now. While them losing in the playoffs would be sweet, them getting beat if they made it to the Super Bowl would be just epic.

I don't want them getting any where near that game...If their in, they could win..F that!!!!!

Thursday practice:

@ByRyanWood: Christian Watson stretched at the start of practice today but did not participate in individual drills.

Other #Packers not practicing:

Quay Walker (ankle)
Evan Williams (quad)
Brenton Cox Jr. (foot)
Zayne Anderson (concussion)
Andre Dillard (concussion)

New Orleans @ Tampa.

Folks on the West coast & North East can't wait to watch this one!!

That is the shit I am stuck with on Sunday. UGH

As someone else said perhaps they don't need a WR1 but perhaps they could bring in a vet to help them out and give them that  veteran to lead  them.

As for Sunday I would play the starters long enough to hopefully  put  the game away and then let  the backups play.

@RealDYates:  Packers Friday practice:

Christian Watson stretched with the team but looks like he’s staying inside once again.

Other DNPs:
Quay Walker
Evan Williams
Zayne Anderson
Brenton Cox Jr
Andre Dillard
