@RealDYates:  Packers Friday practice:

Christian Watson stretched with the team but looks like he’s staying inside once again.

Other DNPs:
Quay Walker
Evan Williams
Zayne Anderson
Brenton Cox Jr
Andre Dillard

The Packers are not going to play Watson at this point in what is not quite a completely meaningless, but is about as you can get to it. Especially when it's going to be around 20 degrees outside.

I agree. I said this in another thread. They need to get the TE's more involved.

If you don't have a deep threat, it compresses the field for everyone else, but especially for TEs across the middle and down the seam.

From packers.com:

GREEN BAY – The Packers have listed receiver Christian Watson (knee) and defensive end Brenton Cox Jr. (foot) as questionable and ruled out five others for Sunday's regular-season finale vs. Chicago.

The five who won't play against the Bears are linebacker Quay Walker (ankle), safety Evan Williams (quadricep), tackle Andre Dillard (concussion), safety Zayne Anderson (concussion) and cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee).

On Friday, Watson practiced in a limited capacity for the first time since injuring his knee in the Packers' 34-0 win over New Orleans in Week 16.

"It was good, it really was," said Head Coach Matt LaFleur of Watson's return. "It was good to get him back out there, kind of get him back in the flow of things. So that was, that was encouraging."

Cox didn't not practice this week after playing through a foot injury against the Vikings on Sunday, but Green Bay is leaving the door open for the second-year defensive end to play.

The Packers didn't issue a game status for the following players who are expected to be available: running back Josh Jacobs (wrist), running back Chris Brooks (ankle), safety Javon Bullard (ankle), guard/tackle Elgton Jenkins (rest), tight end Tucker Kraft (rest), and defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt (concussion).

Chicago has ruled out safety Elijah Hicks (ankle/foot), running back Travis Homer (hamstring) and offensive lineman Teven Jenkins (calf).

The Bears didn't issue a game status for the following players who are expected to be available: receiver Rome Odunze (illness), cornerback Kyler Gordon (illness), guard Larry Borom (illness), safety Tarvarius Moore (knee), and long snapper Scott Daly (personal).

@RobDemovsky:    LaFleur said Luke Getsy, who was spotted at practice today, has actually been helping out the Packers for several weeks.

The former NFL offensive coordinator is helping out the Packers’ D — much like how Robert Saleh is assisting in the offense.

I know people want Watson to sit and be ready for the playoffs but they may need to get him back in the groove of the offense a bit this weekend.

We need all the offense to get back in the groove against da Bears.

MLF helping those guys out (Saleh & Getsy) be better well rounded coaches for possible head coach opportunities.

In my selfish mind it's more "MLF using these guys (Saleh and Getsy) to win a fucking Super Bowl this year. The rest is gravy for them."

From packers.com:

The Green Bay Packers have placed CB Jaire Alexander on injured reserve and elevated LB Michael Barrett and S Omar Brown from the practice squad to the active roster for gameday. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Saturday.

Note: Jaire’s stint on IR means he’s off the 53-man roster for at least 4 games. Should the Packers’ reach the Super Bowl he’d be eligible to return for that game.

Time to part company with Jaire.

Packers have had like 6 since 1992....I think

I would have guessed seven, assuming you're counting from Favre's first start in 1992.

Favre, Rodgers, and Love, of course.  Flynn started one or two games in 2010/11; Malik Willis this year; and I could swear at least two started during Rodgers' collarbone injuries.  Tolzein and Vince Young, at least?

"We are going to take the North and never give it back."

Here's the thing I love about Emery/Pace/Poles

When he sees a problem or deficiency, he attacks it via multiple angles. He doesn't just sign one FA, he drafts the position as well.

I think the Trestman/Emery Pace/Fox Pace/Nagy Poles/Eberflus Poles/Brown duo’s are going to have a fantastic run in Chicago.

How about the bubblegum chewer? Hundley? Did he start? How about Seneca Wallace?

Last time the Packers lost to the Bears was 2018.  Of the players on that 2018 Packers team, more of them currently play for the Bears than the Packers.

Basically it's a joke that the Bears have a lot of washed up Packers players currently playing for them.

Orrr maybeeee...
