The Pack is going to have to play a different style of offense in this one.   Need to focus on getting the ball out quickly as I don't believe they'll let Rodgers extend plays like he can vs. lesser defenses at Lambeau.

Defensively, Orton is good enough to shred them if the Pack gives the same level of pass rush they gave tonite.  Let's just hope the 2nd half was a fluke and the Pack can get things back in order on D again.

Handling the Bills defensive line is the key to this game.  They had no sacks against Denver, and they'll be playing back at home stoked by their crowd.  The noise may hinder AR's ability to communicate at the line. Jerry Hughes is having a monster contract year, and Kyle Williams, Marcel Darius and Mario Williams are all beasts.  It's a really tough front to run against.  Rodgers' arm is going to have to win this game, and he is going to need time in the pocket to do so.  I'm not feeling good about this game.

They are going to need to establish the running game and be patient with it. The equivalent is to dump off the outlet passes to the backs. The most important thing will be to slow their pass rush.

Let's see what Dom comes up with for adjustments on defense. If Sammy Watkins goes Julio Jones on them, I would seriously question Dom's ability to be a competent DC ever again.

Orton was the QB that ended their perfect season in 2011 in Kansas City. He'll be patient, take what the defensive scheme gives him, and keep them in the game. In other words, he's the anti-Cutler.

A former student of mine, Colton Schmidt, is the Bills punter. Great guy. Has been jockeying for years to be one of the 32 punters in the league after a successful college career at UC-Davis and a couple pre-season stints with the Niners. Lived at home last season and spent all day training, helped my high school's kickers as a volunteer coach.

I hope he punts a lot.

Orton isn't very good, but similar to Colin Kaepernick, he seems to overachieve against the Packers.  I only recall the Packers beating Orton once, and that was when he was with Denver with 2011 and the Pack scored like 48 points against them.  Orton was then cut, and beat the Packers later in the year as the QB for Kansas City.

When Barrington sees it & hits it..He can be productive player. Those tackles will go from 4-5yds downfield to 2-3yds

I see hesitation from Barrington though, too many flat step (loses punch/momentum)..I know he's keepin eye on cutback

Barrington keys nearside guard and hits it.. Solid pursuit (Btw... Toilolo cannot block Clay Matthews)

From MM presser, ongoing:

@TyDunne: Mike McCarthy says he doesn't have high concern over Eddie Lacy's hip injury. See how players respond tomorrow on short week.

@RobDemovsky: Mike McCarthy: I don't have high concern (about Eddie Lacy) talking to Dr. McKenzie, but tomorrow will be like a Tuesday.

@RobDemovsky: McCarthy: No concern about Sam Shields. He wanted to be out there Monday, appreciate him being there. He's a young player, he's our guy.

@HellerSports: McCarthy--"I'm not going to sit here and talk about our Defense all day. We're on to Buffalo."

@packers: McCarthy: Very impressed w/ Buffalo. Their defensive front is outstanding. This is going to be one of our biggest challenges on the road.

Found on the internet: I feel Denver has looked sloppy in recent weeks and Peyton Manning has lost zip on his throws. In Sunday’s home win over Buffalo, Manning did not throw a touchdown pass and threw two interceptions. I don’t think he threw a tight ball the entire game and his deep balls looked weak. This could be cause for concern down the stretch.

I watched a good chunk of that game - until it got boring - and Manning was throwing ducks.  His arm is totally shot.  That's why I think they're going to get beat by someone in the playoffs again.

Buffalo's defense is good, though, as we all know.  IMHO it'll come down to which Orton shows up.  If it's the Orton who played Sunday, GB will win comfortably, as he was terrible.  If it's the Orton GB has seen before, it's going to be a struggle.  Orton is definitely in the Brad Hoover pantheon when it comes to how he plays against GB, though.  Let's hope he sucks this week.

Kyle Orton didn't really beat GB back in 2011, he merely managed the game and didn't make mistakes. Tamba Hali beat GB by abusing Marshall Newhouse and making Rodgers run for his life. The offense couldn't get in a rhythm because Hali was in Rodgers face almost every play and ended up with 3 sacks. And their DBs did a good job not allowing any big plays. Orton can execute a gameplan, but he's not a QB who will win a game. He's a complementary player, teams need everything else to fall in place perfectly to beat a Rodgers led offense with a strong player at QB.

Here's McGinn comments on Starks vs Falcons:

Starks made the Falcons pay for what Smith called "mis-fitted" gap control on a 41-yard, game-clinching burst off left tackle. Worrilow had the angle but was left grabbing air because of how fast Starks hit it.

He broke five tackles in 12 touches. On his 3-yard TD, Starks probably would have scored even more easily had he stayed inside. Instead, he danced wide and, at the 5, made Ishmael miss so everything in the end was hunky-dory. Starks inspired confidence with his ball security on five late carries in a row against a grabby, desperate defense.

James Starks went to school in Beefalo and he will be returning On Sunday with a little extra juice

Hope he has another big game
