Eagles LB Devin White out with an ankle

We'll see if that opens up the middle of the field for Musgrave & Kraft.....possibly a pass to Jacobs and/or Reed in the flat.

Between it being the first game of the year and taking place off in Narnia, I'm just hoping for a win but not expecting much in the way of quality football or to get much of an idea how good either team is. Week 1 games are usually weird enough as it is.

Last year, Chiefs lose to the Lions 20-19. The difference....it was AFC vs. NFC

Losing the first game for either team isn't a big deal but it's a little more important being in the same conference & both teams are expected to make the playoffs this year. 1 of these teams will hold the tiebreaker over the other. THAT is why it's so important.

The potential tie breaker for this game IMHO is vital.  Not only is this a conference game but if a tie breaker happens for where this game is played it would be nice to avoid Philly if they can.  They have been a little better in Philly in recent years but historically they have not done well there.

I'm telling you, I have a feeling about this game...I think the defense is going to be up Hurts ass all day. I think the combo of Hafley's new scheme, putting the best pass rushers in places to wreak havoc, and Philly's new OC (Kellen Moore, who by the way I think is the most overrated OC in the game...in spite of him at one point being anointed the next hot HC candidate, has struggled to keep an OC job)...this Eagles offense isn't going to be as successful as the Vegas guys think.

I would take the Packers all day at +3.5 and bet the under. 17-10 Packers seems like a real possibility. Given my stellar predictatory skills, 46-42 Eagles incoming...

My take is that we will overreact to whatever happens in this game. Not only do you have the wild card of playing a team in another country with all the travel involved, but it's the first chance anyone will see Hafley's tendencies in key situations. We won't really know how Hafley's schemes will hold up until 3-4 weeks into the season once other teams get enough film to start going after the potential weaknesses.

The other thing that favors the Packers (or other Eagles opponents this year) is that this is the first game the Eagles will play without Jason Kelce as the starting center since 2015. Jalen Hurts has never played with another center. Kelce is one of the top 5-10 centers of all time. In fact, there is a good argument that he's top 2 all time (Mike Webster and him). Kelce was the big reason why the "tush push" play was almost unstoppable. Even if his replacement ends up being a good player, it's still a huge downgrade.

Can you set up a stationary bike so one leg has to push harder than the other? So as not to perpetuate a muscle imbalance? And which leg gets the hamstring pulls- weaker or stronger?

I know mine only has 2 settings- hanger and shelf.

You could use an oblong chainring to serve this purpose.

There’s been some good and some bad moments playing the Eagles over the years.  Best memories for me were Favre and co. destroying the Eagles in ‘96 on the way to a World Championship and of course the road win at Philly in the 2010 playoffs on the way to another World Championship.

1996 and 2010 were separated by 14 years. 2010 and 2024 are separated by 14 years.  Maybe it’s destiny that the Packers beat the Eagles on the way to a Super Bowl win every 14 years.  It’s been a year of all sorts of cicacda species emerging from their slumber and maybe the Pack emerges from its’ Championship winning slumber as well 😀.

My point wasn't that the result isn't important, just that it isn't indicative.

Packers opened the season AT Eagles in 2010. (Winning 27-20)

This is a "home" game for the Eagles.

Super Bowl is in New Orleans this year

NFL likes their symmetry.

Surprisingly small capacity at this venue.

No surprise it sold out so fast. seating capacity of 47,252. They put temp seats in for World Cup and it got them to 68k. Maybe NFL didn't think 50k would sell out so fast? 🤷🏻

Lots of journalists over there since Brazil banned X.com. Wendell is Brazilian too 🙂

More cases of the Oropouche virus disease, also known as sloth fever, are being reported in the United States this year among travelers returning from Cuba and Brazil. The viral disease, which is spread by small flies and some types of mosquitoes, can cause a sudden fever and aches, among other symptoms.

Just lovely ...I posted about the virus earlier.....that and the fish testing positive for Coke.

Hopefully, either or both RB's Wilson and Lloyd are able to go tomorrow.  Both listed as questionable today even though they had limited practice.  Merriweather may be elevated from the practice squad as insurance.  Clifford maybe elevated also depending on how quickly Willis has learned the playbook.
