More concerned about 33 than 9 at this point...we have WR...We don't have another 33.

Progress?

Sounds like #33 is going in the right direction

Thing about hammies...you just never know when they are fully ready. They are almost like concussions in that if you come back too soon you can suffer another injury in a hurry, and this time even worse.

Some guys can feel 100%, they do some tests, even practice on it...then come game time when they are sweating out all their hydration the bitch tightens up again.

Hammies are worse than sprains...because sprains don't pop back up again once they are healed. Would rather they err on the side of caution.

Funny, all the time I spent playing sports as a kid then a young man then a not so young man I never had a hamstring problem. No pops, no soreness or anything. Tons of sprained ankles, some twisted knees and calf strains but never a hammy.

That changed this spring when we had a team building event at a bowling ally in Iowa City. After a couple normal games of bowling (and half a dozen beers) someone decided we should try a game of "silly bowling". There was a between the legs frame, opposite hand, no thumb hole, laying down, I forget what else. Then there was a stand at the foul line on your dominant leg and throw with your dominant arm (left for me) frame. It was a very unnatural motion and the torque or whatever of going from the backswing to the front swing made my left hammy pop.

And that was it for my silly bowling career.

Was that old separated shoulder on the left side?

As ultra ultra conservative as the Packers medical staff is, if Jones is good to go on Sunday then that means he’s jumped through more then his share of hoops to satisfy them he can play.

Heard Wayne L on radio today, he seemed to believe it’s possible he plays and kept mentioning how fast Jones would be on that track/turf.

It seems the real indicator if someone will play is their Friday practices. If Jones is a participant that day, then it’s likely he plays

The line has moved 3.5 points in the wrong direction.   Packers are now 1.5 point dogs.    Seems betters are thinking Jones won't play, Packers are not as good as they looked, or both.

This is the best anecdote I've read about the issue.  Totally agree from experience.  Hammy ended my senior track season at regionals.  Ran the 4x100 finals with my right leg wrapped up in tape because we had no one else.

To follow packerhawk...Now in my 50's I run regularly, probably 15mi/wk at a pretty good pace.  Never really have any injuries other than some ITB issues from marathons.  Haven't been doing any pick ups or anything but steady, straight line running on pretty good surfaces.  Somehow tweaked a hammy a couple weeks before 4th of july.  Really out of nowhere and I could barely finish my run.  Tried to take it easy, stretching, etc. but it wasn't getting back to 100%.  4th of july weekend we go to my MIL's who lives on a lake.  We set up fireworks out at the end of her dock.  I light the first one, which is pretty big.  The wick burns a lot faster than I thought it would and I bolt to get clear of it.  First stride my hammy felt like a bear trap snapped on it.  I used bad words, went down hard, half fall in the water and the roman candles goes off. MIL is yelling at me asking me if I'm ok and the kids are screaming.  Either in laughter or terror.  Unfortunately there is no video record of this.

Ouch.

Even worse, this is me, Milwaukee Riverside 1975. Hammy is still torn.

Rest of that tweet ^^^

We only get to see stretch on Friday’s so we won’t know if they actually practiced or not until the injury report comes out but this is an improvement for Jones. Watson and Jones both had their helmets fwiw. No sign of Bakh but that’s per usual. Watson went outside with the team, Jones did not.

Per MLF:

Packers injury statuses for Sunday at ATL
David Bakhtiari: Questionable
Aaron Jones: Questionable
Quay Walker: Questionable
Christian Watson: Questionable

On the hamstring guys: Watson actually practiced on a limited basis, but Jones did not.

Walker is not out of the concussion protocol yet.

Bakhtiari didn't have a status last week, but LaFleur said that's not necessarily an indication that things have changed.

Said LaFleur: "He'll probably be questionable all year."

One side of me is ok with Bakhtiari not practicing all week and then hitting the ground running on Sunday and playing lights out.  But the other side of me has been wondering if he becomes "questionable" based upon the turf they are getting ready to play on.  Not saying that's the case it just has my wondering after almost three years since the injury what is going on.

League deciding if they want to allow Quay to play or "even the slate" a little more. He does not have an effing concussion.

MLF, taking a page out of Belichicks book "Everyone is Questionable"

They start with head injury. Then they are in the protocol. No one knows what really happens after that

Watched ATL-CAR at lunch today (condensed version on NFL+).

ATL was average and if they had a QB they'd have won by more.

Not sure if CHI or CAR is the worse team.

Even if Jones and Watson sit, GB has more talent that ATL.

...and league controls the "protocol" whatever that is.

It's not like they can crack open his skull and see if he has any damage. 🖕🏼NFL 🤬

Everyone has a baseline. If Quay meets the baseline and isn't having any symptoms (like reoccurring headaches or equilibrium issues) he should be allowed to play.

And it's not even close...the great equalizer is handing ATL points with short fields and/or turnovers.

All things being equal, Packers by 10.
