I can see game playing out very similar to last week vs the Jets.
Yet another team we should be able to mop the floor with, but allowing them to look like a well-oiled machine at times. The lead will change a few times, any TOs would be huge factors, and we may pull out a win in the end by a last-minute TD or last-second FG.

Pettine has another week to put something on the field resembling a defense. Injuries have hit that side of the team hard, but I think he has responded well with adjustments and planning. It's less than ideal, to say the least, but some guys have really stepped up (Lowry, Lancaster, Breeland, and others) and they are playing hard. Clark's loss hurts, but Alexander's loss is a killer.

Yes, it would be nice for a higher draft position but if these last two games are a springboard for ironing out the bullshit from the last two seasons and everyone getting on the same page for next year, I'm good with a victory or at least a competitive game.  Defense always comes to play even if they are 5th stringers.  Pettine sucks.

I believe it was Ben Fennell who posted that the Packers D is getting killed on first and second down, mostly on play action, and that comes down to the packages that Pettine is playing.  At the same time, the talent on the field on the D side of the ball being fielded right now is terrible.  There are no quick twitch DL or LBs, outside of Fackrell.  It is early, but the contributions from the rookie class outside of Alexander have been underwhelming (Jackson, Burks, Looney).  I'm hoping to see more from M. Adams this week, to see if he's actually starting to get it.  There are some positive signs.

I actually really like what Adams has been doing the last couple weeks. He's been a mixed bag overall, but his good plays have looked really good. I think he has Kenny Clark potential.

We talk a lot about which coaches suck, but Jerry Montgomery is freaking killing it with player development. Clark is an all-pro, Lowry and Lancaster are looking legit quality depth, and Adams is showing signs of life. With Daniels coming back and if they re-sign Mo Wilkerson, we will have the best and deepest DL group in the NFL.

Even if it is Philbin that engineers it?

which would probably make him a top HC candidate after going 3-1 as Interim coach...

He would've beaten the Falcons, Jets and Lions and lost to the only good team (Bears). Other than the game against the Cards, that's exactly what MM did this season.

that's voldermort there.  you can see it and realize it but you can't type it out or say it out loud or the Injurious Plaguemonsterous begins to stalk.

Actually, no.

This means that they actually beat the teams they should. Other than the cards.

Something Mac's coaching was incapable of doing.

Not if they're serious about taking the team in a different direction.  Unfortunately, that possibility can't be overlooked.

I can't see how Spriggs lasts. Yes, I get he's a 2nd round pick and still under contract, but I have to think Gutenmeister has seen more then enough.

His team beat the Niners and the Bills.  Crushed the Bills.

Needed a damn miracle to beat the Niners.

Lost to the Lions, Redskins and Cardinals. All teams they should have been able to beat.

Vince Biegel demonstrated that Gutey is more than willing to quickly pull the plug on a player when he views them as little more than a waste of roster space. Unfortunately, I think Spriggs may be a bit like Hawk in that the organization has a higher view of him than most fans.

My take is that Spriggs had to be kept this year because of depth concerns.
Put in the simplest terms, there was nobody else left to play T.
I think the team also hoped this would be the year he would break out, but if it's not clear by now that he's not going to.....

I'd like to see what a year in the system did to Kizer (not joking).  Clearly not ideal, throwing to (guys not named Adams), but did a year of "not being a Brown" have any effect on him?

Strange announcers on TV. I wonder if they will actually report the game or bog us down with stupid stories which they know nothing about.

somebody needs to start a game thread.

Did they just say that Williams was the third string RB?

Jones and Montgomery started the year ahead of him

Yes behind Jones and Rodgers.

Jones missed the first two games and was 3rd string RB for a good number of games after that. Was 3rd in the rotation.

Rodgers, Tramon, Crosby, M. Lewis, Graham, CM3, Kendricks, and Eddie Pleasant are all active and all 30 or over. The guys that are inactive or on IR are all under 30.

Guess this means we should sign more old guys?

Packers will draft somewhere between 10th and 17th.

The announcer has called Jamaal Williams "Jamaal Murray" and "Adams" in the first quarter. Nice. Wonder what kind of names he will come up for him in the next 3 quarters.

"The Packers season started magically, can it end that way?"

Yeah, dumbass, if there are some forfeits involved.

Jesus, they're making my ears bleed.

This. 1,000 times.

Can I like this 10,000 times? I appreciate Rodgers wanting to play, but its obvious no one other than UDFA guys wanting to get stuff (Morrison, Tony Brown) on tape cares what's happening.

This can’t be overstated. He is the franchise. You have hundred million invested in him. There is absolutely no point to throwing him out there.

In addition, they should have been using thus time to see what they have in Kizer and Boyle.
