Welp. Maybe yesterday's bourbon is still swimming around in my head, but I really think this is a winnable game for the Packers.

Here's some news that should shock no one..

I think the Gronk story seems odd. We'll see if he plays tonight. If not, I'm thinking a trade is in the air independent of his threats to retire if traded. Now, the Patriots are beatable. But you must get pressure on Brady else he sits back and takes whatever open receiver emerges knowing the defense will keep the game close. But that defense is vulnerable. However you need to be creative and mix things up on O a bit - this scare me. The Patriots will know Packers film as complete as the Packers so this - we do what we do crap won't work! Living in New England is unbearable given the low intelligence of the sports fans here. Losing to the Pats will be oh so painful!

The fact that Belechik is benching his most talented receiver for a quarter or more for "tardiness ", while MM says Montgomery's "punishment" is his hurt feelings for subordination that thwarted a chance for a season changing win speaks volumes about the difference between the two.

What does it say about "except for when that didn't happen"?

Fake news at it again!

After the disheartening loss to the rams, I see the Packers being very uninspired against the Patriots this week.

It will go one of 2 ways. Either they are pissed off and come in motivated and ready to kick ass or they come out flat and get steam rolled. Hoping it's the first but wouldn't be shocked if it's the latter.

Listening to game on radio on way home, announcers said they were told that Gordan would sit out the First series ...... he was in the game on the third play from scrimmage. So much for "why can't every coach have the balls that Belechik does"?

except that he didn't. Gordon started.

Watching their defense against the Bills, their secondary looked like they were covering spots, not the receivers.  It looked like they knew the Bills’ routes!

It’s either really good preparation, or they are up to some of their old tricks. Either way, it would be a good week for some new looks.

The Packers scheme also has the receivers adjusting their routes depending on the formation and how the play develops, right?  That should help us against the Patriots.

I agree. Rams game would have been but for Montgomery’s ”Deliverance” maneuver.

Sorry but between the roughing call against the Queens and this past game, this is turning into a total Ned Beatty kind of season here.

Speaking of “here,” I know the popular opinion on MM around here involves torches and pitch forks, but really, he had them ready against the Rams, and if he can do it again for this next game, he deserves all the props in the world.

It’s a huge order. This last game was a heart ripper, the kind that could tear a team apart at the seams.

That’s my biggest worry heading into Boston. But if the defense can keep it going and they can come together as a team,  I’m thinking we can beat the Patriots.

Bills right now must have the worst WR / QB / OL combo in the league

Too late, Ty. Should have said that immediately after the game. Secondly, should have taken a glance down to see where you were if you had doubts. Third, you should know since you put your feet on the goal line and went backwards. Fourth, yes, your teammates are more than a little upset; they worked their butts off for 58 minutes, you screwed it up in seconds, and then you refused to take the blame, and now you are whining about it. Grow up, own it, get over it.

Playing the Pats this week makes cutting Ty a little sketchy. You just know BB would scoop him up and milk him for intel. Not that they need it, they probably already know everything they need to know about the Packers.

Hopefully they have something saved up that hasn't been scouted already. Or maybe just give the ball to Aaron Jones more?

It'd be a ballsy ass move by Gute, but if Randall Cobb (who got less playing time then MVS yesterday) isn't part of the 2019 Packer plans, I'd dangle him in front of Billy boy for a 3rd.

Yes, he'd be available for this upcoming game and it could bite GB, but aside from that, he's in the AFC and GB would never see him.

In seasons before this one I would have thought trading Cobb would be dumb.  But I really don't feel that way anymore because it seems like he has a hard time getting on the field with injuries.  And If I am not mistaken (and please correct me if I wrong) but I think he his contract is going to be expiring after this season so getting something for him now would be a good move by Gute.

As for the Pats to me they are beatable but the Packers have to keep up the defensive effort they had against the Rams and I do think the Pats defense can be scored upon.  But, to me there is the chess match against Billichick that you have to win and that may be the toughest part of it all.

DH13, I feel the same way.  The Packers definitely can beat this Patriots team.  They can match scores with them.  With the Pats having played a Monday Night game that's 1 less day of rest and 1 less day to prepare for the Pack.  Sometimes that can make a difference, not always, but I believe it's at least somewhat of an advantage for the team that didn't play on Monday Night.

As mediocre as the Pack has looked for most of the year, they did play a really solid 59 minutes vs. the Rams so that is something to build on there.  The Pats/Pack game will probably come down to the last couple minutes.  The Pack needs to make sure those last couple minutes are executed well as the Patriots will pounce on any mistake or missed opportunity you give them.  Brady will make you pay 9 times out of 10 if you give him the chance.

This could be THE turning point game of the season in my humble opinion.  I think the Packers if all their balls are in order CAN WIN THIS GAME.  I really feel tho, there is a changing of the guard in the NFL.  Teams that are never spoken of in terms of playoffs are going to be in the mix, and the “old steadfast playoff teams” are NOT going to be there this year.

If what he says NOW is true, he would've said that Sunday. It's just take him a day or so to develop his alibi.

It's a lie.
