Redskins running back Chris Thompson looked as dejected as anyone in the postgame locker room. He knows what's at stake next Sunday vs. Green Bay. "It's very important. I mean, it's Aaron Rodgers coming in. We don't have it together then we get embarrassed again."
Packers open up at -3. I was shocked by that number. I put 100 on them.

Washington is quite the Jekyll and Hyde team. They have some pieces. Ryan Kerrigan is a dangerous player. Good young talent on the defensive line as well. Linsley and McCray better come ready to play.
I worry about Alex Smith running RPO. He's still a very capable QB. Chris Thompson is terrific catching the ball out of the backfield and their tight ends (Jordan Reed and Vernon Davis) can cause a lot of difficulties.
Washington is going to be extremely physical, especially after the sorry game they played yesterday.
This dude is more down on the Redskins than most of us are on the Packers!
Teams coming off a bad game are always dangerous. Sounds like the Skins really put up a dud yesterday:

The Redskins blew a chance for a 2-0 start and did so by playing an all-around bad game in losing 21-9 to the Colts. But it started with the offense. They blocked poorly along the front and generated almost nothing but short gains on underneath throws. Adrian Peterson rushed for only 20 yards on 11 carries. The defense allowed three touchdown drives of 75 yards, though they did force two turnovers. Washington has Green Bay and New Orleans up next; the Redskins will need to play a lot better to win.

It looks like Peterson didn't fumble yesterday so he should be good for a couple on Sunday.
There is a strong whiff of something with this team. They know they beat Minny. Minny knows it too. Maybe know they should have beat Minny worse. Football teams know these things.

My wife is a Redskins fan and I am a Packers fan and we will be at the game Sunday. If the Packers win and you all dont hear from me for a couple of days she found a place to bury the body.
All kidding aside I worry about this one a little bit. I know the Redskins kind of stiink but I worry about the let down factor after 2 tough division games. And there is also the fact that I have seen the Packers in person probably 10 times on the road and they have won once or twice.
I don't know how a team could be in "let down" mode after playing to a tie the week before. If anything, I feel the Packers will be pumped up and ready to put a beating on Washington. I hope Kevin King can play so we see as little of House as possible. An INT each for Jaire and Josh Jackson in this one. GO PACK, GO!

Finally over the bad calls and time to move on. One player that has to start playing better is HaHa. I know he got a INT rather gifted and INT. The first Vikes TD I may be speaking out of turn but I can imagine why Pettine would have him vacate the middle to rotate over to the boundary and leave King one on one there.
I doubt King plays this week but I’d the dude could stay healthy and we get some better S play there is another gear yet to come from this defense. Especially if Burks and Jones can provide something too.
I look for the offense to really want to make up for the red zone misses.
All I know is Alexander and Jackson are everything I hoped Randall and Rollins would be, but weren't.

It's got to be a let down to them to have faught as hard as they did to take down the "#1 rated D" in the league at home only to be hosed with flags to a tie.
King can't play with a bad groin. It would be great to see Burks and will be great to see AJones. Still dreaming of the Lewis/Graham combo.

Neither safety has played particularly well. Sure appeared like Brice had the opportunity to make a play on the TD pass to Thielen and didn't.
For some unknown reason I had a real struggle with the stream for the Queen game. Thankfully, it's on local TV here and that won't be an issue. Looking forward to seeing Aaron Jones back on the field.
Brice is still young and likely got moved by Cousin's eyes just enough so Thielen could get a step. It happens, his closing speed was impressive, but he needs to take a better angle on that and play the ball...doesn't matter what you're going to run into, go get that ball. I can live with young players making mistakes like that, it sucks, but hopefully he will learn. Our DBs missed out on a couple other INTs playing the man instead of the ball, they were in good position to take it away, they were just too focused on their man. I think Jackson and Alexander will rack up some INTs as they get more comfortable with game speed.
Not calling Brice the next Collins but their measureables are all very similar except their 3-cone. Took Collins until year 3? to start showing up.
Still the highest scoring game in MNF history.
Brice and J Jones are quick and athletic. I just worry a bit about the former. He’s not the biggest dude and his style of play (reckless abandon) could lead to more injuries and missed time.
Need to see Alexander and Jackson play more snaps. Diggs was a non-factor when 23 was on him and Jackson has a knack for being around the ball and making big plays.
Brice is going to be a fine safety. No idea what Clinton Dix’ end game plan is in a contract year. He’s costing himself a lot of money thus far.

Not to mention the market for free agent safeties, one's significantly better then him, wasn't that great for them getting paid in 2017. A lot of pretty good safeties sat and sat and sat with little to no contract offers. Look at Morgan Burnett. Yes, he was a bit injury prone, but he signed for pennies in Pittsburgh.
Eric Reid is still a free agent. Vaccaro sat forever.
Even if HHCD has a pro bowl year, which isn't looking likely, does he really think teams are going to throw mad cash at him? I have a feeling he'll be in for a rude awakening come March 2019

When I lived in the DC area, we went to a Packers/Skins game. Lots of green and gold in the stands back then.
Power rankings out: we're 5, Redskins are 23. Bears are pretty high. Disagree with Vikings at 4. They'll be falling soon.

I wouldn't go that far. The guy is high character human. He's just not a top level safety in the NFL.. I'm more in the "thanks for your service Mr. Dix but we are going to go in another direction" camp.
OK, I can see that. Just wondering why a "high character human" would quit on his teammates the past two years. He just quit.
I think he does a lot of great charity work. Dix is a good guy, probably a great athlete, not a great football player.
I don't know that HaHa has just quit, but I think it's possible he's looking more towards his career outside of football and isn't as focused, or maybe he just isn't happy being in Green Bay. I would agree his level of play has dropped after his first few seasons.
As others have pointed out, he's a guy that's highly involved in the community outside the NFL and maybe he's starting to be more interested in focusing on that than football. When I saw an interview with him this past off-season, I thought he struck me as guy that could be a future leader in some area like becoming a city mayor or something of that nature. He seems like he's got his s*&t together off the field.

I guess the good news is, the last time we played the Redskins they had Deshaun Jackson and Pierre Garcon and those guys have moved on. Man that was some sorry defense the Pack played that day, but no Cousins/Jackson/Garcon and I think we'll hang in there a little bit better this time. The bad news for us... we don't have Jared Cook who silently emerged in that game as a threat. Once Rodgers and Cook began to connect Pack ran on a nice winning streak that ended in the NFC Championship game.
