Could be that Salah is not employed by the Packers but he is being paid as an independent contractor only offering advice. Happens a lot in business.  Packers avoid insurance,  S S taxes, etc.

He is MLF's best friend. Could be no more than telling him to come hang out for a few days in Green Bay instead of sitting around and stewing that AR got him fired.

Also, if GB does win the Super Bowl, maybe Hafley will get hired by the Jets as their new coach. Then, Saleh can step in and we can have the jets pay the majority of our DC's salary next year.

Many contracts are set up so that pay from the original team is reduced by the extent of pay from the new employer.

In addition, I think there is/are clause(s) that coaches in this situation are required to seek employment. IOW, they can't just take a 2 (or however many) year paid vacation.
If memory further serves, if they are offered a commensurate position with another team and don't accept it, it reduces the money the fired coach gets.

There are much better minds than mine that could answer these.
Perhaps someone with an X account could ask Mr. Brandt for comments....

Never underestimate another team. I remember the β€˜97 season when we were defending Super Bowl champs. We played the Colts, who at that time were the worst team in the league and they beat us. NEVER assume you can get a win easily. JAX may look like a gimme, but I don’t think you can go into a game with that attitude and perform your best.

I love where this team is heading. I am excited to see how they perform the rest of the way.

p.s. Maybe one of the reasons I’m concerned about this game is because my ONLY trip to see a game at Lambeau was with my son in 2012. We were heavily favored and just barely squeezed out a victory. Granted, Jordy and a few others were injured, but it should have been a blowout. But it WAS a victory and we saw Donald Driver’s last TD reception and also saw the Packers block a punt and recover it in the end zone for a TD, something that hadn’t happened in many years.

I'd be in favor of bringing back D-Wy slowly out of an abundance of caution, and saving him for Detoilet. First off, I think there's enough talent at his spot to get the win in JAX. Second, that heat and humidity can be murder on a big man...they become more prone to hamstring and groin injuries. Let the big man practice, but don't play him. He's much more vital to the long run than this game.

That Quay is back so quickly says the concussion was minor...you get out of the protocol when you pass all the tests. There is not getting out of it...they will use an abundance of caution...NFL policy says so.

Kid is ridiculous..

Lots of dudes with strong legs...only handful can do what these guys do consistently. There is a ton of wiggle room at every other position for error...for kickers and punters the margin of error is inches and tenths of seconds.

That he didn't even grow up playing the game makes it more impressive. At least the Aussies KIND OF grow up playing something that is similar to football. This kid was only kicking round things the first 20 or so years of his life.

Packers once again a very healthy group going into Jax.

Curious about Wyatt. He practiced the whole week and per reports, he looked good. Do they hold him out one more week to face DET? Or play him now..
