EPA=expected points added

Expected Points Added (EPA) is a football statistic that seeks to measure the value of individual plays in terms of points. This is done by calculating the Expected Points (EP) of the down, distance, and field position situation at the start of a play and contrasting it with the situation at the end of the play

CPOE stands for Completion Percentage over Expected. This stat is calculated by Next Gen Stats, utilizing proprietary tracking data to estimate the likelihood a given pass is completed at the time it is thrown, averages all of those expected percentages, and then subtracts that from the actual completion percentage of a player for each game.

@ByRyanWood: #Packers coach Matt LaFleur says MVS (hamstring) is out, Kevin King (concussion) is doubtful and Elgton Jenkins (ankle) is also doubtful vs. Steelers this weekend. Three starters down.

@TomSilverstein
#Packers coach Matt LaFleur said WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) is out. They'll list CB Kevin King (concussion) and LT Elgton Jenkins (ankle) are doubtful. For #Steelers WR Chase Claypool (hamstring) is questionable and RT Chukwuma Okorafor (concussion) is out.

They used their 2nd and final PS protection of EQ this week which essentially predicted MVS would be out.

Would love to see a heavy dose of Tonyan this week. And getting Amari involved would be sweet.

I really hope Jenkins can go but I don't want them to rush his return.  As for King what can you say at this point with his injuries?  I get so used to him being out its kind of expected.

Whoa

@MikeGarafolo: #Packers LB Za’Darius Smith underwent back surgery this week, sources tell me and @RapSheet. He’s expected to be out an extended period of time, though the hope is it’s not a season-ending situation.

@jasonjwilde: He reported to camp with the back injury. Unfortunate that he wasn’t able to have surgery right away in late July. Wonder if he ever plays another down for the #Packers …

Who says King is a starter?

The hits keep coming

@JFowlerESPN: Packers are expected to place Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) on short-term IR, per source. The thought is a speed option downfield could re-aggravate the injury so they want to give him time.

Could be back in three weeks.

For a speed guy like MVS the hamstring is likely going to bother him the rest of the year.  3 weeks sounds about right, but it could linger depending on his recovery and if he tweaks it again.

I just happened to remember this afternoon...
Didn't Aaron Jones complain last time we played the Steelers in preseason that they were twisting his ankle(s) in the pile after a play ended?
He said next time he was going to be kicking if they pull that crap again, IIRC.

Per GB local weather forecast:

Our Sunday starts off with areas of dense fog across the Northwoods. Visibility may be as low as 1/4th of a mile, so drivers should be prepared for poor driving conditions through the mid-morning. Otherwise, with an area of low pressure slowly swirling over Lake Michigan, we will see mostly cloudy skies today. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are possible. While severe weather is NOT expected, a couple of these spotty storms may have lightning and brief downpours. Fans who plan on going to today’s Packers-Steelers game should plan on a 50-50 chance of rain during the game.

I worry more about Watt than I did about Bosa. Bosa stayed on one side prior to the rush. Watt will not. I also think that the loss of MVS will have the Steelers tee off on the line and keep the gains short at best.

Mayo better not get over confident when it comes to Nijman.  He did a good job with a i lot of help last week.  That needs to continue.

I expect a lot of 2.5 second or less passes like last week.
