People like me have lived in Vegas for 43 years, you're not going to tell me anything I don't know about the city. I saw "hockey fans" claim they were hard core Kings fans but when the Knights started winning they switched. The truth is this city was so starved for any pro team they were going to back them just to prove they could support a pro team. Oscar was busting his ass to get an NBA team. Hockey was getting the foot in the door. And look, the Raiders, the As, and LeBron is trying to bring an NBA team here. If this team was a cellar dweller you wouldn't see all of the euphoria. The Raiders and As will be very popular when they start winning but I know plenty of guys who just "invested" in Raider tickets. I went in a couple times and talked to them but I didn't like the way the PSLs were worded or priced.

As far as rule changes allowing them to start with a good franchise? How many expansion teams were in the Stanley Cup Finals. I'm curious what the NHL would have said if they won. I think they would have had a hard time calling them castoffs.

If you knew shit from shinola, you would know the people of this town don’t want an NBA franchise.  The All Star game experience was all we needed to see.  Thats a hard pass for anyone who gives a shit about the people who make the town run.

Reality is, you can’t be a bandwagon fan of a franchise in year 1.  It’s year 1, they don’t have a wagon.   Again, sorry your team sucks.

The A’s won’t be our team either.  Another transplant.  I’m sure they will make money as tourists will come to catch a game, just like the Raiders.

Last, right, no new franchise teams have made the cup.   That, combined with how the community came together around the team after Oct 1 shooting, is what makes it one of the best modern day sports stories.  You would rather try to find reasons to hate instead of celebrate.   Truth is, nobody predicted playoffs.  Cite me a source written prior to the start of that season with someone predicting playoffs for that team?   You can’t, because it doesn’t exist.   That argument you are making didn’t exist until after their success.   Haters gonna hate.

Don’t know if will be against the Vikings or later in the season, but I think the Packers offense is eventually going to click.I don’t necessarily mean they’ll be one of the top offenses in the league. But I think they have talent at the skill positions - WR, RBs, and TE. I really like Musgrave and when he “figures things out”, I think it adds a dimension to the offense they haven’t had in a while.

The offense is 6 games old. I want it to be better sooner, but it will take some time.

What are you even talking about my team? Haters? It has nothing to do with that. You're just giving you personal opinion how things went in Vegas Goodman was trying 20 years ago to get an NBA team in Vegas just to get a Pro team and show the city could support one. Nobody thought that could happen and the NBA was the easiest to get. The NHL wasn't even under consideration, and MLB and the NFL were pipe dreams. And the only reason Vegas broke through was because Oakland wouldn't build a stadium and Vegas would.

A lot of people didn't like the NBA All-Star game because a bunch of thugs showed up that had no intention of going to the game, just hung out in the casinos. To make it worse it was Chinese New Year. Talk about a culture shock for them. I knew customers that were taking cabs from the Mirage to go across the street to the Venetian because they were afraid to walk it. But that crowd won't show up like they did for the All-Star game and Vegas very much wants an NBA team. Because you don't want one means nothing.

Rest assured I understand how it all went down. And nobody has ever given a shit about the people that make the town run. I know, I was one of them.

Vegas is a hockey town?  You don’t say.

I always thought it was weird seeing the Stars in Dallas.

The NBA would do just fine in Vegas.  If it’s Magic or LeBron owning the team for sure.

The Golden Knights are a fun story but an NBA franchise will draw a lot more interest locally and nationally.

Well, it's about 4 1/2 hours until kick off, at Lambeau. I hope Barry has a lot of pressure dialed up to fluster Kark. I hope Barry has the right people covering Hockenson and Addison. I hope Love settles down and leads us to victory. I hope Musgrave is okay to play. The same goes for Jaire, though I'm not holding my breath. A division game at Lambeau, with colder weather than the vikings are used to, playing inside, under their roof and no Jefferson, could all end up with a "W" for the Packers, if they want it bad enough. GO PACK, GO!!!

Good news, they took the rain out of the forecast, low 40's, cloudy by kick-off.

That fact is Vegas was trying to land one of the big 3 sports for a long time and settled for hockey because it wasn't happening. The NBA was viewed as the low hanging fruit. Becoming an instant winner created bandwagon jumpers and no so dedicated hockey fans of other teams to sign on. They were almost viewed as the consolation prize at the time, just a way for the city to get a foot in the door as a pro sports city. I fully expect the NBA to be here very soon now that the biggies, the NFL and MLB, are onboard.

Hey.....it's Vikings week.

Pack getting a win today? Or they going all in for that top draft pick?

Let's just hope the answer isn't neither. Winning 6-7 games and picking around #10 would be about the worst case scenario.

Year 1 franchise with bandwagon fans?   Think it through before you open your cock holster.

This is one of those games where the Packers need a few turnovers, a couple special teams returns, and a few splash plays on offense. That is what has been missing all season. Nothing has come easy and that stuff generally evens out. The teams the Packers are losing to aren't any better than they are, it's just a break, a penalty, or a bounce here and there that has been the difference.

Vikings winning a game they're not supposed to win....Teams after playing the Niners not covering the spread like 10-11 straight. Something like that. Vikings on a short week

Vegas ain't dumb they're not going to give Packers +3.5

Well it was +2 as we got close to gametime. We all saw the game. Vegas could have given the Packers +7 and raked in a ton of money.
