Poor ol' Kampy! Frowner
I know he wanted to do much better in Jax, of course, and I'd guess most here rooted for him too do well, so it's disappointing for everybody.
I hope he finds his way back to Green Bay if that is what is best for his family. He has many fine qualities that can benefit the community and would be a great representative for the Packers.

Tough call to make the PHOF, P'Hawk. I can't argue he wasn't a great Packer, but if we use his peers as a standard, he faces a very high bar. Does he compare to Willie Davis, Dave Robinson, and others from that era, and continuing through Reggie's era?

I don't know if he necessarily has the temperment to be a coach (see Kevin Greene, Mike Trgovac), but if ever there was a guy that could show players the right way of doing things and being a pro, it's Aaron Kampman.

Agreed, he and Driver would be perfect as mentors assigned to rookies, especially "At-risk" ones.

So, you think Kampman should get a job with the Lions? Smiler
Tough to see Kampman's career go this way after he left Green Bay. I think we can all agree that he embodies everything it means to be a Green Bay Packer.

That said, I don't think he's a Packer Hall of Famer. I compare him to Al Harris, a guy who wasn't well known around the league (at least by fans) but Packer fans appreciated. But unlike Al, I don't think Kampman really left a lasting footprint on the franchise. Guys like Woodson and Tramon still talk about what they learned from Al, and those two guys have passed this knowledge down to Shields and hopefully House. I don't think Kampman had that kind of lasting impact. He was great for about 3-4 years here but when he left, that was kind of it. I appreciate everything he brought to the franchise, but I don't think he deserves a place in the Packer Hall of Fame.
