Let's assume he's back from surgery in 3 weeks. Practices in 4 weeks. Is activated by week 13 (at home against the Queens). Has 2 fairly quiet weeks and say catches 2-4 passes per game and 30-60 yards.
Now it's nearly the end of the season and we'll think positively that GB makes the playoffs and we'll say Jennings is back to where he was prior to injury and he's putting up decent numbers. But at the same time Jordy is still going strong as is JJ and Rodgers like usual is spreading the ball around well. By now Quarless is also back so MM runs 3 TE sets like he used to do with a full compliment of TE's. As we all know, there's only 1 football to go around.
All in all it would still mean Jennings had a very quiet 2012. He'll be 30. And will now have had multiple seasons where he's been hurt.
Could all of that translate to GB being able to re-sign Jennings to a fair but modest contract ? Especially when you think of what he could have had if he was having a monster year.
I realize that Jerruh is out there is as is Danny Boy but I just can't see Jennings getting the contract offers he would have and he does know the team, the city, and has said he wants to stay here.
Could TT get him for far less then initially thought?
