STOP DROPPING THE FRIGGIN' BALL!!!
Just don't tip it to the other team
That doesn't even seem possible since he has 11 catches. That would mean his catches, on average, are madewithin a 1/2 yard of the line of scrimmage. The stats at Yahoo! show he averages 5.2 YAC, which is approx. 58 YAC/game.
He has 5 forced missed tackles in 11 receptions.
I like what I've seen from Finley.
Having a TE that has the speed of a WR to split the safeties in the cover two is really working. Here's hoping Bostick develops quickly.
That int he caused against SF must have been about 15 yards downfield.
On pace for his best year as a Packer...in the last year of his contract. Not too shocking.
I mentioned it in the post SF game thread. He's looking like 2009 Finley. Now if Quarless can get back...
With all the FA's coming up this offseason, we're going to be looking at quite a different team next year. Gotta grab that ring.
That catch and run he had for 27 yards was a thing of beauty. He was running over guys and breaking tackles, just the way I like to see him play.
I'd like to see him targeted more often in the end zone
why specifically? Are you concerned with the Packers red zone offense?
Why? The height advantage he offers, as evidenced when he went up to get the ball on his TD last week. think that play would be unstoppable in the Red Zone.
We have seen the jump ball to J-Mike plenty in seasons past. I don't think it's any more successful than anything else they do down there.
Target whoever as long as it works. All sorts of weapons and only one ball is a nice problem to have.
When you have Jermichael matched up on somebody like DeAngelo Hall (which was the case last week), Rodgers is almost always going to look his way. That's a horrible mismatch and one that Finley should win every time.
As long as we can get
on the field as often as possible
" That's a horrible mismatch and one that Finley should win every time. "
That's pretty much been the case his entire career.. Unfortunately, the "should" part hasn't worked out at a rate you would expect.
Why do people always think a player doing well in a contract year is only doing well because it is a contract year?? I think Finley is finally "Getting It". Also with Greg Jennings tearing it up in Minnyhaha these days, LOL, JF is getting more touches.
Remember- YAC at this unprecendted level for Finley is a pretty recent development. The drops, the ease with which he used to go down... it stinks to high heaven that he's going hard now for his deal.
Pre-knee injury and post full recovery Finley look a lot alike to me.
I concur with Hungry5
He was in a contract year two years ago and didn't get it done. I'm inclined to believe it's a combination of things, primarily the disappearance of tentativeness that seemed to be there after the knee injury. AR said on his show that he's picked up the pace in practice and taken it to another level.
JF when he's healthy and focused is a pain in the ass for opposing DC's. On the play where he broke several tackles along the sideline one could say that was piss poor tackling by the Skin's but I have also seen a different looking Finley since the 2nd half of 2012. And he's looking even better now. Seems to be trusting his knee now and more focused.
When the 4 horsemen are out there (Cobb, Jones, Jordy, Finley) I don't know many secondaries that can handle covering them all with a QB like Rodgers throwing to them. Just imagine then adding a healthy Eddie Lacy in space on things like screen plays.

I know James Jones is talented, but I didn't know he could be in two places at once.
I presume one of them is supposed to be Jordy Nelson?
Yep. Sorry, I knew it started with a J
All WR's look alike.
At least to Ponder they do.
Well I've heard he is a very smart dude.

I think the improvement of his practice habits is more reflective of his desire to get paid than to be great. This is a guy that has been or painting his greatness since 2009. He's even done some finger pointing and has hinted criticism of Rodgers. Sure, it could be maturity, and maybe he's "getting it". But at this stage, he's buyer beware IMO. People talk about WRs being divas- in GB, it's their TE (now that Jennings is gone).
The bottom line is that I pretty clearly have a much higher opinion of Finley than you do. Everything I've read indicates he loves the game and cares about the team and how he performs.
Fearless Finley โainโt got no worriesโ
There's a nice piece by Wilde on how the knee injury negatively impacted his play.
Contrast that with James Jones or Jordy Nelson. Both Guys just play and the rest takes care of itself. No grandstanding, no posturing, no media quotes Super Bowl week. Any with all three players, the dropsies have been an issue- Jones busted his ass to fix his, I suspect Jordy did as all (though little has been said about it).
Finley? We all recognize what this guy can do when he's on. But despite his superior talents, Jones and Jordy out-perform him. Now we're supposed to get on board with a cap-crippling contract? I don't think so. If he comes reasonable like the other 2 guys, great. But I don't think that's his intent. .
Ted Thompson has the pulse of this team & every player in that locker room.
There is NO WAY in the blue hell, TT would allow any locker room cancer into 1265.
How many years of proof do you need after he disposed of Favre like yesterdays garbage?
