"yes" vote for Jerry Kramer
Maybe not, butt-sack. But Jerry probably had his Championship rings on his hands so it was tough for him to come out of the stance and get his hands up to block.
Congrats to Jerry and his family! Well deserved. I had read Instant Replay when I was 11. Teacher wouldn't let me do a book report on it, however.
How many of you actually watched this guy play?
I did. I'm an old fart. My first real recollection and fandom was the 1965 season. But I do remember watching the Browns win the '64 Championship.

I'd buy you a frosty one. Respect for grinding out the Packer lean years to you.
Jerry was a damn swell o-lineman.
I thought that '72 Season was going to be a catalyst for more titles in the future. Devine smashed my dreams. Yes. Lean years. When I moved to California....could only watch when the local stations carried a game or National TV. THEN, the '89 Season came with Satellite TV. My neighbor had bought one the first Satellite Dishes. (8 feet in diameter I think...ha). He could get any feed. But he wasn't a Packer fan so I would go to the Packer bars out here instead. So, since 1992 it's been a great ride....it has made up for those 20 years of hell.
I'm still enjoying the Packer Pride ride!!!
When playing backyard football as kids in the snow, we'd often run behind our black lab who was always in the mix. My brother would always call him "Fuzzy" after Fuzzy Thurston if the dog "got in the way" for a block.
Great football name right there...Fuzzy Thurston.
I would probably gone to Canton later this year, if the Packers were playing the HOF game, but mine guess is that it will be Baltimore ( Ray Lewis ) vs. Chicago ( Urlacher )
I have 4 books that were written by Jerry, all autographed by him. The man voted The Best Guard In Pro Footballs 1st 50 years should be in the HOF and now he is. What a great life story from being shot with a shotgun to the wood splinters in his abdomen that caused him so many problems later in his career, the broken ankle and detached retina. No wonder he was called Zipper by some. Congrats Jerry!!!!! Jerry Kramer, HOF 2018.

Maybe if your dog played for the Queenies, they'd have a Super Bowl title by now!

I started sneaking in to OLD City Stadium in 1954.
I've seen every player since then.
I saw every NFL game he ever played. Started watching in the late '50's.
The weirdly ironic thing is that he is much better known now that if he'd have gotten in the HOF when he should have - back in about 1974. Remember Willie Shaw, Gene Hickerson, and Jim Parker? I don't remember them at all since I wasn't born until 1969, but those are guards whose careers substantially overlapped Kramer who are in the HOF.
I'm in a generation that never saw Jerry Kramer play, but everyone my age who is a football fan knows who he is because there were hundreds of articles written over the years about why he wasn't in the HOF. If Kramer is in 40 years ago, he goes to alumni events and is kind of a somewhat forgotten player. Now fans will remember him much longer and his HOF induction speech is likely to be very emotional and remembered for a long time.
Watched the Lombardi Packers, so got to see Kramer play.
I also saw Jim Marshall play. Seemed like a nice man, a bit confused though.
I was stuck watching the Giants when I was a kid. Got to see Kramer play when the Pack was kicking butt in the offs!

I see what you did there.

About. F@cking. Time.
Kramer was an OL. He'd probably swear just like your avatar.
Unless you were making a reference to Kyler F@ckrell, who is highly unlikely ever to show up on a Hall of Fame ballot.
The asperand was a necessary concession to the ****ing asterik insertions.
Never considered using it for a drive-by Fackrell bashing.
Man, there's some crusty curmudgeons posting in here!

Iβm not flying anywhere until Friday morning. Frankfurt. Today was planned well in advance. Plan was always to watch Green Bay but it is what it is. Cheers! And if anyoneβs out and about with an adult beverage. Just donβt drive.
Prosit!

I am to young to remember the glory years and my first real Packer memory was the 72 team. I know back then everyone thought that it would be the start of something great again because they weren't supposed to be that good and made the playoffs.
Ahhh yes and then came 1973 until 1992. I grew up about 20 minutes from GB and to call them the dark years would be an understatement. If someone had told me back then I would witness the Packers in the playoffs much less WIN a Super Bowl I would have laughed at you and probably asked for what you were smoking.
Anyhow, congratulations to Jerry I so look forward to the speech you will be giving. Many Packers fan will be misty eyed that night.
Inside look at 64's day, last Saturday.
All you need to watch are the first 15 seconds. Absolutely magical. https://www.facebook.com/ProFo...s/10159881817820510/
Yeah, when Ray Lewis opened HIS door, I thought he might stab the guy.
Will the Hall Of Fame ceremony be aired live? If so, where? Is Packers.com, or anyone, going to post the ceremony online?
FIVE MEMORABLE MOMENTS FROM THE HOF CAREER OF JERRY KRAMER
Good piece by Rick Gosselin. Forgot about all the kicking he did.
How many of you actually watched this guy play?
I did. And in person a couple of times too.
I did too. And I also got him to autograph 3 of the books he wrote, Instant Replay, Farewell to Football , and Distant Replay. I also got to wear his Super Bowl ring.
Watched him on TV. The power sweep coming right at the lens was an awesome thing.

The first Packers game I watched was The Ice Bowl. My first glimpse of #64 "wedging" Jethro Pugh on the winning play. Congratulations, HOFer Jerry Kramer!
