MM will be a yes man for that organization. A key reason why the former HC stuck around so long. Like him, MM will also do little to rock the boat. The craziest thing I can see MM doing, and this is only if their offense derails, is to take over play calling. But he won’t even bring that up unless his hugely talented offense takes a massive dump.  I don’t see that happening.

Perfect situation for MM. All he has to do is be better than Jason Garrett. 9 years of .500 plus football and a losing record in the playoffs.

Cowboys are pretty talented on both sides of the ball.  Can MM screw it up ?

Really thought with all that time off he would spend a little time on his physical health. Judging by what I saw of his neck-head in a recent interview that never found it's way onto his radar.

2 games in and 2 horrible game mgt  games  by Mike.     Shocking.   Under the bright lights in Texas, the media is going to expose him and everyone will understand what we already did.   His game mgt will cost you a couple games a season.

During the game, someone on the Falcons yells, "Don't touch it!" as it slowly rolls the required 10 yards. The football was rolling like a bunt down the thirdbase line.  Couldn't have been easier to pick up or just fall on.

Watched Mike throw the challenge flag on a play he certainly should NOT have challenged while needing to preserve TO’’s in the 4th and said to myself, “self. I’m never, ever going to miss that”. Mike lost the challenge and the TO.

Or just swat the damn thing OOB.

At the rate that thing was rolling, the entire Falcons team could have sealed off the Boys from the ball and someone could have fallen on it. Instead, they... stand... and... watch... it... roll... 10... yards... and lose the ball. That's one bad team.

I just realized....the Cowboys coaching staff is the same as the 2005 Niners in reverse. Mike Nolan is DC instead of HC, McCarthy is HC instead of OC

From the Wikipedia page on the 2005 Niners.....

Despite having a better record than the 2–14 Texans and 3–13 Saints, statistics site Football Outsiders calculated that the 49ers were actually, play-for-play, not only the worst team in the NFL in 2005, but the worst team they have ever tracked.

No they wouldn't.....if you're referring to them playing the Packers, they won't beat Green Bay....not this year....not with that DC in Dallas. That defense can't stop anyone let alone the mighty Green Bay Packers.

Seattle has the QB to beat Green Bay -- actually so do the Cardinals. We'll find out more about Tampon Bay after the bye. Don't sleep on the Saints either, even though the Packers beat 'em

Not referring to the ‘boys playing the Packers specifically.  But they have a lot of weapons on offense, to include a stud running back that can grind out yards if they ever get a lead.  I think they’re better than their record. And I don’t think MM is as bad a coach as many here think.  He needed to be done in GB, but I think he still knows how to coach.

Guess we’ll see.

I get what you're saying, but....

-Dallas was never down by more than 6 against the Rams;

-Dallas was only down by 5 to ATL after 3 quarters, then got down by 15, but ended up winning; so not junk yards (I know, ATL's D sucks)

-Dallas took the lead against SEA with 4 minutes left in the game, so no junk yards there;

-Dallas was being blown out by CLE but got to within 3 points with just under 4 minutes left; so if the Dallas D doesn't immediately give up a 50 yard TD, Dallas has another shot at a tie/win

I hate the Cokeboys as much as the next guy, but they have a ton of talent on offense - a solid QB, good RB, stable of WRS and a decent OL. I guess the next 12 weeks will tell the rest of the story.

That's what happens when your hiring pool is limited to the Sons of the Monongahela Lodge.

JFC, talk about an 'ol boy network...Mike Nolan was the best choice you had for DC? What about Frank "The Stank" Dicknetti? Couldn't find a spot on your staff for QB Jesus? You know the guy you fired Alex Van Pelt for...

LMAO at MM.

You have Ezekiel Elliott....& you only run 36% of the time on first & 10. Dead last in the NFL.

That is soooooo MM. He's trying to cross them up with a pass. Everyone "expects" them to run. LOL

Probably the only Super Bowl winning coach that won't get another job after this one.

He might get fired after this year if they don't start winning. I still think they'll win that division.

Isn't that the truth.  You have easily one of the top 2 or 3 backs in the NFL with a good OL and you run the ball dead last in the league?

All I can say is now the Packers finally has a coach that will commit to really running the ball and caring about defense and I freaking love it!

It's a bit surprising, but not really shocking, that even after a year off MM is basically the same coach, leader, and guy as when he got fired.

He still says a lot of things and doesn't follow through on them. Running the ball more, getting Aaron Jones more involved, study analytics and evolve, etc.

He still surrounds himself with his pals instead of people that can bring something new to the table or challenge his thinking.

He does what he does. And he'll still win enough games to rationalize his beliefs, while ignoring that it's less about him and more that he's been exceedingly lucky to coach VERY good QBs that can often cover up a lot of his flaws and issues.

He got fired while having the best QB on the planet. One would have thought he'd take a month to be pissed, but then sit down and do some serious self examination and analysis

Seems to me the only examination or analysis MM did was of the menu at Cheesecake Factory.
