Game starts at 6:45 CT, and does not look to be on TV.

The Crew has owned the Cardinals so far this year. I believe they are 6-1 against them in 2024. Time to keep pushing them down in the standings. ESPN Gamecast calls it about even.

Here's the pitching comparison, Hoping Montas has a good game:

Montas was a deadline acquisition, so the Brewers are only paying about a third of his total salary, but his total salary this year is 14 million. Civale (another deadline acquisition) is making 5 million. Those two have  started 11 games for the Brewers this year.

The 8 other guys that have started at least 5 games this year for the Brewers are cumulatively making a total of 15 million. Montas makes basically the same amount as these 8 guys do.

Peralta (5.7 million), Rea (3.5 million), Myers (740K), Joe Ross (1.7 million), Bryse Wilson (1 million), Koenig (740K), DL Hall (740K), Gasser (740K),

The Brewers optioned Peguero to Triple-A Nashville on Monday,                    Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Odd decision to pitch Mears in the 8th with Payamps and Megill available.  Even odder to not bring in Koenig to face Carpenter, who hits a 2 run bomb off Mears.  3-2Brewers now.

And now Devin William is in danger of blowing the save.

The dominos for this started with using Mears, when you had the entire bullpen available after the day off yesterday.

Yeah Murphy hasn’t done much all year that’s questionable but this was.

A close win is always good, even though it got a bit dicey in the 9th. But a win is a win. On to Wednesdays game with Tobias Myers on the mound for the Crew, beat them again Brewers.

Tied for the second best record in the majors, 1 game behind the Dodger$. Murphy could well be Manager of the Year.

Mlb.com did an article this week (I can't find it right now) that predicted the all-MLB teams for this year. William Contreras was the #1 catcher, but other than that not a single other Brewers player was mentioned.

If you have a team battling for the top record in the league without a bunch of star players, and you lost arguably 4 of your best 6 players from last year for all or most of the year (Burnes, Woodruff, Yelich, Williams), and your best free agent added was Hoskins, how could you not be Manager of the Year?

Murphy was with the Brewers for the entire Counsell era. Maybe it wasn't Counsell that was the driving force in the sustained success after all? Murphy was an incredibly successful college manager at Notre Dame and Arizona State.

Another 6:45 CT start For Wednesday's game. It should be on FS1.

I'm liking this pitching match up With Tobias Myers on the mound for the Crew:

7-54.261.34131.01261215018

Heard an interesting stat on the radio today when driving thru La Crosse.  The Brewers have the second best team with players having a 2.0 wins above replacement.  Phillies are number 1.   Turang leads the club with a 4.4 mainly due to his defense.  Ortiz is at 2.2. Those were the only players they specifically mentioned.

They also talked about why the Brewer defense is so good. They have essentially 3 infielders who are shortstops and 3 outfielders who are actually centerfielders.

Does not look like Tobias is at his best tonight (lots of pitches so far), escaped a couple of jams. Meanwhile the Crew bats can't get going. 0-0 going into the bottom of the 4th.

He is now in another jam in the 4th, guys on 1st and 3rd, no outs.

Tobias now has bases loaded with 1 out, this does not look good. He is already approaching 80 pitches.
