I checked with Tooner and he asked that someone else set it up. Since I often helped I2H with the picks, I figured I could do it.

Sorry for those who already picked in the old one, but Tooner said he didn't remember the group or password or even which of his email accounts the pool was associated with. So we're starting over.

So I went ahead and set up the new I2H Memorial Picks Pool. You need to get an email invitation to get in. I sent some to the few x4 folks I had addresses for on my new computer, which wasn't many.

If you want to be invited send an email to x4i2h@yahoo.com

Go Pack Go! Smiler

Edit: It's been ascertained that going to the page http://x4i2h.football.sportsline.com/e and putting in the password x4i2h does work, but you will need to have an account set up with them first. If you were in it last year you can use the same account at http://www.CBSsportsline.com. If not, go there and set one up first. (If you happen to have an account at NFL.com, you can use that one.)

So you can skip the step of asking for the invite, though I will still check for such requests, in case one method doesn't work for some, or there are questions.

After you have an account set up, go to the website above and put in the password.

If your real name comes up as your "name" in the pool, follow the instructions in this thread in red by Viking Girl, or the "Manager's Message" on the pool page itself.

I don't have anything called the "ID". The password and the "abbreviation" for the league are both the same. Did you set up an ID for yourself on their site? That might be what they are asking for? Because I set it up, I didn't have to sign up for it the way others do. Anyone else know what he means if it's something else?

IIRC from last year, you may want to use your "handle" as your name when you sign up for an account if you are doing this for the first time. I think there is a place to change it if you goof, though. Otherwise your real name will show up in the pool.
I sent a couple batches of invites today. Tomorrow though, I will be out and about, especially midday, celebrating my daughter's birthday and Sunday looks sort of busy, too. If you don't get an invitation right away, please give me 24 hours to get to you. It's not an automated process until after I give cbs your email to mail your invitation but I'll keep it going as quick as I can. Thanks.
When you get the invitation, it should include a link to the log-in page. You shouldn't need a league ID because the link already recognizes which pool you're joining. All you should need is your "name" as you want it to appear and the password.

If you see a message to the effect that "this is a private pool" and you can't proceed any further, this may happen if you haven't first registered and/or logged in at the cbs sports site itself (or to NFL.com, they share a member base, apparently) or if you haven't gone to the invitation email and clicked on the link in it. You have to register with http://www.cbssportsline.com (I suppose that would have been a good thing to mention!) before you can join the pool via the invitation link.

Edit: Registration page

Hopefully we're clearing things up more and more as we go,

So how long does it take to get an invite? Was I supposed to say anything in that email that I sent? I just sent a blan email, since the email addy indicated what it was about. Hopefully I can use the same registration info that I had from last year. I have to darn many passwords no that I can't imagine having to remember something different
I know there was a lot to read above--Hauser and others your invite should be on the way in a few minutes. Hang in there guys--in case you missed it above in the pile of typing:

Hang in there guys! It's not like the season starts tomorrow morning or anything. We'll get you all in there as quick as I can get on a computer and zip online and send another batch and we'll get any bugs figured out in the next week or two. I just happened to get the word from Tooner on my daughter's birthday.

If you had a login and password from last year, you certainly can use that for this league.

Which is amazing, because usually it takes much longer for me to figure this sort of thing out.
THANKS for the invitation!
This was a LOT of fun last year!

Confused Hmmm...I just sent CBS your invite email info 5 minutes ago, when I checked my email and there was a request with a German subject heading. Did you send a different one from another email address earlier? Or did you get into last year's perhaps? This one should say "I2H Memorial Picks Pool." Maybe you didn't figure it out as quickly as you thought?

I'll be home later in the day if anyone has any questions/problems.

Can't someone just go to http://x4i2h.football.sportsline.com/e (assuming you already have a CBS Sportsline account set up...)

And enter the pool password: x4i2h

?

Don't know, I am new at this. Have just been doing it they way they said to do it. The steps they take you through when you are the one who started the league are different. If somebody tries it, let me know.
Squirrelpee - the reason it didn't ask for the ID is because the link that was provided already recognized which pool you were entering. It just asked for the password to verify that you were invited.

BTW - for those who are listed on the pool under their real name and want to change it to their X4 user name (or something else) - just select "Options" from the menu bar and go to "Personal." At that point you can change your name and even your e-mail address if you wish.

I'm guessing that it would probably work, they probably weren't thinking in terms of message boards when they made their setup. I suppose they could have said, "Post this email and password on your office bulletin board", I guess, and had the same result. Their way would insure not getting strays in your pool, I guess. But I'll go send one to RMan, just to cover all bases.
"iggynuckles"--you know who you are--your email address isn't working, so you didn't get my email on real names as "handles" in the pick pool

"iggy" or anyone else in this boat: Remember, if you are reading this and want to take your real name off and put a board name (or similar) on instead, read VG's post on the first page of this thread,(in which I've also taking the liberty of coloring the vital info red) or read the Manager's message on the pick site to find how easy it is to fix!

Not too many people use their real name as their x4 handle, so I suspect for most that this is an accident of registration, not their intention.
