Okay, we have the Bears and Vinkings (mistype, but doesn't it look right?) threads. What about the pathetic Loins. They should be 0-16 every year, just because.
Meh, I guess I don't really care.

Nothing more interesting, Fedya. Wanna see?
Stafford is such a gunslinger he doesn't care who catches his passes.
Ladies?
fedya's concept of romance concerns me

He's like a kid out there!
Fedya could at least offer a movie.
Ladies?
He was asking for a "friend".

Paper Lion?
It depends. Some just feel so sorry for me. They even weep. Others cannot control their laughter.
yet, you are the one talking about it the most
concerns validated
I used think of the Lions as a decent rival in the early to mid 90's (with Barry Sanders), then they descended into those lovable losers that eventual went 0-16. It wasn't until Schwartz showed up and turned that team into a bunch of thugs that I really started to dislike them.
I also dislike Stafford because he actually bought into the hype that he was a great QB, not realizing that he was only as good as Calvin Johnson let him be. Now that Calvin is just "good" and not "oh my god holy sh*t how in the world did he catch that?!?", Stafford's play has dropped.

The Loins remind me so much of the Queens.
Bobby Lane, Alex Karras, and Mel Farr playing outdoors somehow transformed into Stafford, Suh, and Johnson playing in a dome. And what was once a respected rivalry likewise transformed into a one-sided thumping. Coincidence?...
They did manage to re-ignite the rivalry in the mid-90s as you mentioned, CUPF. The Packers and Loins were both young teams on the rise, returning to respectability after years of poor play. I think we played them 2-3 years in a row in the playoffs.
But that's where the similarities ended. While Green Bay was adding people to their organization like Wolf, Holmgren, Favre, and Butler, Detoilet was adding people like Fontes and Scott Mitchell. And, once again, we see the different direction these teams have taken.
As long as the Loins suck big time on 11/15..I'll be attending my first game at Lambeau, coming up from NC along with my brother and friend from NJ. Too bad Jordy got hurt, I was really looking forward to seeing him light it up.

Good points. The Lions are somewhat similar to the Vikings in the late 1990s. Both teams became at least threats to make the playoffs based on essentially one transcendentally talented player.
Matt Stafford = Randall Cunningham. Cunningham was obviously a better runner, but both were QBs without great fundamentals with strong arms. They looked better based on measurables but, for the most part, only thrived when they could lob the ball to a guy who could beat double or triple coverage.
Both teams had strong DLs anchored by somewhat crazy guys (John Randle vs. Suh).
And then obviously both teams had the best WR in the NFL. Calvin Johnson was never as good as peak Randy Moss, but Johnson is a much better locker room guy and team player. Johnson is the reason they Lions made the playoffs a couple of times recently, but I've never seen another player have as much impact on the Packers as Randy Moss did. Ron Wolf was a guy who tended to pick the best player available in the draft drafted DBs in the first three rounds the following year because he didn't think he could win as long as Moss was around without doing that. Moss had as much to do with ending the Packers mini-dynasty as anyone (other than Holmgren himself). That Monday night game where Moss almost singlehandedly ended the Packers 25 game home winning streak.
It will be interesting to see whether Calvin moves on anywhere else. Can you imagine what he would have done with Rodgers, Brady, Rivers, Romo, Brees, or Manning as his QB? When Moss finally played with HOF QB in Brady he caught 23 TDs that first year (and that was when he was no longer in his prime). Luckily for those of us who disliked Moss as an individual, David Tyree's catch happened or he'd likely have ended up ranked as the 2nd best WR ever (and even then I would argue he was much more physically talented than Jerry Rice and didn't have Montana or Young throwing to him for most of his career).
You can book it, Lions will beat the Vikings 27-24.
Teddy is 1-6 on the road. His lone road win was against a 2-14 Tampa team last year when Barr returned a Tampa fumble for 6 in overtime. Teddy sucked ass in that game by the way.
Teddy has has lost his last 5 road games.
The Lions suck.
The chances this game resembles a Chinese fire drill are strong.
The missing piece.
@davebirkett: Lions awarded DT Khyri Thornton on waivers https://t.co/JoRHtPrXwG via @freep
The Lions claimed Kyri knowing Uncle Ted was going to bring him back just like he did with Joe Thomas. Uncle Ted is bored with lack of competition from other GMs so his latest gig is releasing a player, let someone else claim him which we all know how every player released by Green Bay is coveted by the entire league, and then resign the rejected player back to Green Bay turning him into a Pro Bowler. It's his way of saying you are dummer than we all know. Dallas the latest qualifier.
Ted is incredible.
1. He started taking guys that fell on his lap, A-Rod, Raji, Nelson, etc,
2. He next pimped guys by faking a passion for a player leaving the guy he really liked available.
3. Getting bored with 1 and 2 he next started to see how many draft picks he could get.
4. When the others caught on he moved to signing UDFA's as his way of saying I am so good I can build championship teams with scrubs. Tramon, Shields, etc.
5. Of course this whole time never trading for missing links. Moss, Gonzo, Beast, etc.
6. Only signing FA's after the rest of the league rejects them. Cwood, Julius.
7. Let some stud UDFA or guy from your lap loose and then when the dum dums cut the player bring him back buying him a air plane ticket for the Pro Bowl game.
8??? I suspect it will involve collecting locker room cancers and social violators turning them into model citizens and champions??
Imagine if Ted wanted to rule the world.......
RatPack, post of the year.
Perfect.
Can't believe Pondwater and crew beat them in their house.
Zimmer is getting a lot from the Vikes D, but their 4 wins have come against the 1-6 Lions (2x), the 2-5 Chargers, and the 2-5 Chiefs.
A cynic could say that Dom is getting alot out of his D but all they have faced is one team at 500 and 5 under 500.
stats r funny
