Best pick: Robert Griffin III was their first pick, second overall, but they get props for moving up to make the pick.

Questionable move: Why take quarterback Kirk Cousins in the fourth round after taking Robert Griffin III in the first? That's a luxury pick.

Third-day gem: FAU running back Alfred Morris came in the sixth round. Mike Shanahan once drafted Terrell Davis in the sixth round. Morris is smaller than Davis, but has the same type of cutting ability.

Analysis: Getting Griffin was the right thing to do. They have their franchise passer. But they didn't do much after that. They didn't have a second-round pick, but I also don't like what they did with the rest of their picks.

We've talked about it before, but TT always doubles up on his early picks

Datone Jones, followed by Josh Boyd
Eddie Lacy followed by Johnathan Franklin

Given the bust rate and the difficulty of picking the right guys, it makes an immense amount of sense to double up. If its an area of need, then you're better off having more than one option available. Plus the later round guys push the early round guys. Win win
Prisco is an idiot. You don't draft someone in the fourth worried about where they're going to start. If you're expecting a fourth rounder to start on day 1, you're team has issues. And besides, analysts have even said that Franklin isn't that kind of back, he'll have to share. Lacy seems the perfect back to compliment him too; big, bruising guy that isn't afraid of contact. Even if they were identical backs, is it so bad to hedge your bets that 1 is a bust?

So dinging the Packers b/c you took RB's in the 2nd and 4th round is flat out stupid. It's just ignorant comment that ignores all NFL draft history. Does he not understand how the NFL works?

Thanks.
I hope Floyd has game. From what I read they have had their eye on him for over a year.

The two contracts which needed to be extended have been done. The general concensus was that Raji was next in that group. I am starting to have my doubts. He really didn't have a great year last year, and frankly, he got blown up in the playoffs repeatedly.

Is Ted hedging his bets to see what Raji can produce in a contract year? Is Floyd just a hope to fill in for Jenkins? Will Jolly come in and actually take hold of this brass ring and do something with his opportunity?

These are the things that make training camp so awesome.

Well said, Satori!

When we look back at the 2013 Draft, taking Franklin is going to be viewed as one of the smartest moves Ted Thompson has ever made as Packer GM. Lacy is going to be a stud, but if he should get dinged up at all, our little MJD clone can keep the running game going full speed ahead. Franklin is a game breaker, and while the rest of the NFL was busy drafting offensive tackles, Ted said "thank you very much" as not one, but two incredible runners fell to him.

I don't know of a person on planet Earth that had a better week than Aaron Rodgers. Huge contract extension, two stud running backs, and new beef for the offensive line. Wanna bet he can't wait to get to work?
