One down, one to go yet. Why can't Williams learn another pitch? It's a 50 50 guess for the hitters. Something almost as fast as his fastball with just a little movement would be HUGE.
Nice to get game 1. Murphy definitely managed to win the game at hand as most of the 'A' bullpen guys were in the game. I like it - worry about the win and deal with game 2 as it happens.
Chourio on the bench as is Ortiz. Lets get the D H sweep!!! Hall better be on and getting guys out with few pitches. Available relievers, Wilson and Ashby. Maybe Koenig since he only threw 13 pitches in the opener. And Megill threw 14.
Whew, glad the ankle thing wasn't serious. Can't lose Yelich AND Chourio if they want to go anywhere after September.
Shit. Our local radio stations don't have the Brewers on. The FM will carry high school football and the AM will have the Badgers on. ESPN Gamecast it is.
Really, Bauers bunting?
Hall with 30 pitches thru 2 innings, not bad but not great either.
Mitchell walk, stolen base and a Frelick single makes it 1 - 0 Crew, middle of 4th. And Hall has a 7 pitch 3rd inning.
So far so good for Hall as he's through 5 without giving up a run on 61 pitches.
And a Mitchell homer leading off the 6th. 2 - 0 Brewers.
Now Hall is through 6 shutout innings on 70 pitches.
Hoskins HR makes it 4-0
Hall got through 7 innings without allowing a run, looking good so far.
Hoskins single, now 5-0, still batting
Adames 3 run HR makes it 8-0
Adames!!! 8-0 in the top of the 9th!
Mitchell with a Triple!!! Crew pouring it on!!!
Monasterio Doubles! 9-0!!!
Frelick doubles!!! 10-0 Crew!!!
Mr 3-run homer strikes again!
Now 12-0, kick the bitches when they're down
Maile basically throwing batting practice. almost feel sorry for him. Almost.
Contreras HR makes it 14-0
Sac fly and a Contreras homer make it 14 - 0. I think Murphy should pitch the last inning.
Now THAT'S how you bitch slap an inferior team
Magic # down to 17.
Very nice job by Hall. I know Reds aren't exactly murders row but is this what we can expect from Hall for the rest of the season?
And in other great news Yankees are beating the Cards and Atlanta whipped the Phillies. Back into a tie for #2 seed.
Brewers have the best road record of the 3 division leaders. And now have the best run differential in all of MLB.
DL Hall may have set them up to win 2 games. He not only won this game with 7 shutout innings, but he also saved the bullpen (except for Joe Ross) to set them up to be available for tomorrow as well.
Another tough call by the front office too. Who gets sent back down, Hall, Ross, somebody else?

That is crazy to see. Best run differential in baseball and one win behind LA for most in MLB. Without yelich too. It's unreal

The radio station, in my area, had the Brewers game on and as soon as they won game 2 of the doubleheader, they switched over to the Badgers- WMU football game. No postgame show for the Brewers game. Not that it matters. Don't know what I'd do without that radio station, WEVR FM, in River Falls,WI, when the Brewers, Packers and Badgers play.
It's been a long time since I watched a double dip. Guess I can't really claim that since I only saw the last 3 innings of game 1.
I only hope the Packers and Bucks are as fun to watch as the Crew this year.
Last three starts he's only had 1 bad inning. The Chris Hook magic is working.
@DurangoDoug posted:Today's game starts at 6:15 CT, and ESPN Gamecast indicates it will be on Fox. But the Atl/Philly game also starts at 6:15 and also on Fox, so I don' know how that works out?
We in the Mid=West should see the Brewers. South and East Coast will get Phillies. rest of country, . I think they do this so if one game gets rained out they have another game to go to. Also Cinncy has 70% chance of showers and T storms this afternoon/evening.
Current weather map shows some light rain just north of Cincinnati, moving east. Not currently showing anything west that might move in later today.
Chourio back in the line up. Wish Frelick would have been tried at 1st base this spring instead of 3rd base. We could use his better batting average in the line up. Yes I know he would be short for a 1st baseman. Anyway, let's get #3.

Yep. Just checked radar. Very few very light showers west of Cinncy. Should not be a problem for tonight.
Also D L Hall sent back to Nashville. But should be back tomorrow when rosters can expand from 26 to 28.
