Word is the team is waiting for the draft before they make a move (I don't know why the hell that is). Hopefully the games begins soon.
Gomez and Lucroy. These two could restock the entire farm. Now, I hated always having the best farm system and fielding a ****ty team, but it was better than having a mediocre farm and a ****ty team. Love both guys, but for the sake of the next ten years, they need to be sold to the highest bidder. I give Gomez a 70% change to go, Luc about a 20% chance.
Lind. Might bring back something. He's a hitter again and healthy. Probably our next best chip.
Krod. I would love to get out of this contract. Somebody needs to overvalue relievers with "closing experience" and Krod has boatloads of it.
Parra. I could see him getting a low minors kind of guy. Lots of teams could use a lefty stick who plays good defense.
Everything else is **** and will be traded for less smell ****.
EDIT- forgot about Segura. Time to maximize the return on that guy
Totally agree with this, and add Braun in the mix. This team will be hard pressed to move forward with him still hanging on our roster. Both he and the Brewers will benefit from the change of scenery.
I want a major fire sale. Inferno.
Talk of Melvin not wanting to talk too much now is ok. The serious bidders will call again as the deadline approaches and the deals get better.
The one guy I kind of want to keep is Parra. He needs to start regularly. Could be a superstar.
I'd keep Lucroy, Lind, Braun, Blazek and Nelson. The rest can go.
Pros and cons of Adam Lind http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs...d-cons-of-adam-lind/
They better not think this recent success is going to continue. The nucleus of players is not good enough to finish much more than .500. Sure they have Lind but they also got rid of their most consistent pitcher in Yo for garbage.
Parra and Lind and Ramirez are the likely scenarios - as is Lohse but I don't think he's worth much although Fiers probably would be worth more but that's not saying much either.
Gomez might be the real wildcard because he's legit and is not a stop gap player. I just think if he's not in the Brewers long term plans you need to strike while the iron is hot. He's the one guy that I think could bring a decent haul of quality prospects and for a team like the Brewers you really have to consider making that trade.
The other factor is the Brewers are in jeopardy of moving up the draft boards with their recent success and that's a problem. They won't catch Philly for the 1 overall pick but there's only a couple of wins that separate then from the 7th or 8th overall pick. It's critical that this team not screw things up; they need a top 3-5 pick. Another .500 type finish does not help them one bit.
Segura is the most replaceable guy on the team right now

Should be an interesting week.
Another week without activity. 11 days to deadline an we are playing better. Maybe we can get Lohse to pitch week enough to move him after the deadline. I doubt anyone will claim him if waived.
