Prepare for disappointment.

"(JC) Tretter has a chance to be pretty good."

Not as good as Pro Bowler.

Tretter isn't an idiot like yuck nuts.  Only Barbre made him look smart.  Tretter is the next Matt Birk.  I'm all about the positivity.

Big Ern is keeping the spot warm for him.  Let's hope he doesn't get munsoned in the meantime.

I'd never root against a Packer... I'm am curious why you think a rookie 4th round pick who broke his ankle in the first OTA practice and hasn't been seen since is the next Matt Birk though.

And there's no romance from my end with "Big Ern."  He is what he is, a decent football player that you can win with.  There's no doubt he can be upgraded but he's nowhere near a garbage player you like to portray him as.  Experts agree.

I think EDS looks good to his coaches and teammates in relation to Jeff Saturday. We saw what the rest of the league and even his own front office thought of him during the offseason. Ted gave EDS the lowest tender and no teams were interested.

Admit it.  You love Big Ern.

Personally, I like Tretter because of his intelligence (overcome his coaching) and proven ability to switch positions and produce.  Add in he has solid size and the ability to grow even more (you know, develop).

I threw out the Matt Birk comparison for ****s and grins.  Ivy League player, late round pick, smert.

The biggest thing I like about Tretter, it probably won't take him 4 years to aspire to the pinnacle of being average.  I would have loved Schwenke but TT missed him by a couple of picks.

Ted also let James Jones completely walk and nobody wanted him either.  Does he suck too?

Jones had a serious case of the dropsies and got his **** together.  Big Ern defaulted into his position.
