Vitale's stance on the broadcast is he thinks the three-point distance in college makes it too high of a percentage shot so he would rather take a couple ticks off the clock, foul and put him on the line for two shots (remember, team is up by three). That's his opinion (Magic agreed with it). I can understand that strategy but it isn't as clear cut as fouling when you have them to give...IMO...
