Doesn't matter.  Those that are buying the jersey are not doing so b/c they support the Rams.  They're buying jerseys b/c they support what Michael Sam represents; the breaking down of a barrier that has stood in professional sports until now.

First off, the team that picked you passed on you quite a few times in the early rounds. So you can go ahead and sack your own QB.

Which leads to my second point. I'm not at all comfortable with Sam saying he's thinking of ways to sack a QB. That term isn't going to work anymore. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I read that article (Or a similar one).  I was turned off by how he insinuated that he fell in the draft because of his sexuality.  I'm glad he didn't end up in Green Bay.  Not because he's gay, but because of the media BS that follows.  The truth is that this dude is an average football player that may or may not even make the final roster.  Yet, if he doesn't make it, you can bet your ass it will be directly related to his sexuality.  

Rams really put themselves in a spot here. If Sam's not good enough to make the roster, and the Rams cut him, they're going to get criticism from people that normally don't follow football all that closely. "He was defensive player of the year in his conference, how could he not make the team?"...I can hear that one already.

It would have been better if a top tier prospect came out before the draft. Then we'd have a real litmus test on our hands. Sam is a marginal NFL prospect at this point, unfortunately.

I don't know F.D.A.  the only way the Rams come out badly is if there is an incident or if they obviously treat him unfairly.  7th rounders are cut all of the time.  The Rams just need to be very deliberate on this issue. I hope he makes the team.

I'm disappointed in you guys.  I was expecting to see at least 2 or 3 jokes having to do with "sacks."

With the Rams, they have a pretty decent LB corps from what I have read and in a couple games I saw last season. Their DL is very good.

Would it shock me if he got cut? Not at all.

As for the "awards", most teams really couldn't care less how many sports writers trophies he has. It's all about what they are seeing on film. IMO he will have to be an ace ST's player to make the 53.

There's a Patriot draft scouting report on Manziel making its way around the web that may or may not be legit. Looks pretty authentic though. 

If it's legit I can't see how any team would draft him. 

If the article was titled Michael Sam: 'I'm proud of where I am now' I wonder if there'd be the same response.  The picture they chose for the article makes it appear like he's emphasizing that he should have been picked higher as well.   

Given that I googled and a link named "Michael Sam Conference Call"  on the Rams site popped up. They pulled it.  That seems about the worst way the Rams could handle it.  Found the transcript from a different site though...

Sam is wrong if he thinks being SEC Defensive Player of the Year or an All-American should make him a high draft pick. Those are media awards, and NFL teams couldn’t care less what sportswriters think. For proof of that, Sam needs to look no further than his fellow Associated Press All-American defensive end, Jackson Jeffcoat: Despite a great college career and a Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year award, Jeffcoat went undrafted.

NFL teams weren’t discriminating against Jeffcoat when they passed on him, they were simply calculating that he lacks the size and strength to be a great defensive lineman, while simultaneously lacking the speed and burst to be a great linebacker.
