Even more clear why he was undrafted.

Didn't he get kicked off 2 teams in college?

So was Randy Moss.

I know you're not equating Randy Moss and Mike Pennell.  Point being it was a good flyer and it seemed he was keeping his **** together.  Previous history shows he didn't end up at SW Pueblo State Arts and Crafts Center because he was a well adjusted individual.

I even seem to remember commentary that guys like Pickett, Raji, CJ Wilson were just too mellow and that was the cause for all the Dline woes in the past, which of course, is horse****.

You get what you pay for.  TT went to the Chinese dollar story and got a "scary" toy made with lead paint.  Big surprise the Dline is looking like a bunch of window lickers.

That isn't a shot at TT.  I think people have failed to see the adjustments in drafting and UDFA selections TT has made over the years to fit supposed holes/deficiencies.  The whole rubicon of "Packer People", which really equates to "You're not a complete head case", has been crossed more and more over the years.

first, Pennel's probably guilty.
but the NFL and NFLPA can't even follow their own rules/procedures?  ferchrissakes...

Pennel was suspended four games to open this season and was notified of another violation that would result in suspension in November. Pennel appealed that ruling and the appeal was set for December 6, although his lawsuit alleges that the NFL, NFLPA and NFL Management Council β€œfailed to abide by the arbitrator selection and assignment provisions and procedure” by β€œimproperly” assigning an arbitrator to hear his appeal.

The lawsuit, which was obtained by Cleveland.com, quotes the league’s substance-abuse policy calling for no less than three and no more than five arbitrators designated to hear appeals and that one of them be designated as the Notice Arbitrator responsible for assigning appeals. Pennel’s suit says the NFLMC informed Pennel’s attorneys that only two arbitrators are available and that there is no Notice Arbitrator assigned. They argue the NFLPA failed to provide β€œfair representation” of Pennel in the arbitration procedure as a result of those breaks from policy.

Pennel is asking for a judge to assign a third arbitrator and put an injunction blocking the suspension in place until an arbitrator is assigned. Cleveland.com reports the case has been assigned to U.S. District Judge John Adams in Akron.

Second suspensions are usually a year, so it must have been pretty minor if it got reduced to 4 games.  Missed a test as opposed to a dirty one, something like that.

Second life!  I say start him in the playoffs.  He'll go all-out ape-sh*t Gonzo to keep his job.

[ Oops *correction it is 6-10 games on a second violation]

I agree that there's no spot for Starks, but the backfield would be really thin really fast with one injury. I personally think a street FA would give you as much from a running perspective, but we know how highly the team values familiarity/assignment assurance.

Now if they know the concussion will linger for even another week or so, that's a different discussion.

Ouch....that reminds me....back in the day I was getting gelded.  To set the scene, I am a wimp around needles and all things painfull.  I was in the room with the doc, he gave me a shot in each ball to numb and prepare for cutting the cords.  All of a sudden he gets called out of the room for a phone call....comes back in and says he has an non golf emergency and has to leave.  So I had to return the next day for 2 more shots in the balls and the snipping.

I think I got two Tootsie Rolls for my troubles.
