Didn't he get kicked off 2 teams in college?
So was Randy Moss.
I know you're not equating Randy Moss and Mike Pennell. Point being it was a good flyer and it seemed he was keeping his **** together. Previous history shows he didn't end up at SW Pueblo State Arts and Crafts Center because he was a well adjusted individual.
I even seem to remember commentary that guys like Pickett, Raji, CJ Wilson were just too mellow and that was the cause for all the Dline woes in the past, which of course, is horse****.
You get what you pay for. TT went to the Chinese dollar story and got a "scary" toy made with lead paint. Big surprise the Dline is looking like a bunch of window lickers.
That isn't a shot at TT. I think people have failed to see the adjustments in drafting and UDFA selections TT has made over the years to fit supposed holes/deficiencies. The whole rubicon of "Packer People", which really equates to "You're not a complete head case", has been crossed more and more over the years.
Pikes Peak posted:Will he be missed? Can't say as I heard his name much or noticed him on the field this fall. Just one of big, fat, interchangeable non impact players around the league.
TT can replace him.
Because he's been so good at stocking our DL?
http://profootballtalk.nbcspor...-appeal-arbitration/
first, Pennel's probably guilty.
but the NFL and NFLPA can't even follow their own rules/procedures? ferchrissakes...
Pennel was suspended four games to open this season and was notified of another violation that would result in suspension in November. Pennel appealed that ruling and the appeal was set for December 6, although his lawsuit alleges that the NFL, NFLPA and NFL Management Council βfailed to abide by the arbitrator selection and assignment provisions and procedureβ by βimproperlyβ assigning an arbitrator to hear his appeal.
The lawsuit, which was obtained by Cleveland.com, quotes the leagueβs substance-abuse policy calling for no less than three and no more than five arbitrators designated to hear appeals and that one of them be designated as the Notice Arbitrator responsible for assigning appeals. Pennelβs suit says the NFLMC informed Pennelβs attorneys that only two arbitrators are available and that there is no Notice Arbitrator assigned. They argue the NFLPA failed to provide βfair representationβ of Pennel in the arbitration procedure as a result of those breaks from policy.
Pennel is asking for a judge to assign a third arbitrator and put an injunction blocking the suspension in place until an arbitrator is assigned. Cleveland.com reports the case has been assigned to U.S. District Judge John Adams in Akron.

Unlikely. He's too busy avoiding press conferences.
He's been relegated to second team on DL. Not a lot of snaps.
Per WTMJ: DT Mike Pennel suspension reduced from ONE YEAR to 4 games.
I assume that's the 4 games he already served?
EDIT: Nope, this is a new 4 game suspension, effective immediately. He will be available should GB make the post season.
He will be available for the post season.
Run the table.β’ (problem with this is that at 10-6 they could miss out on the playoffs)
Dope
Is Howard Green available?

Second suspensions are usually a year, so it must have been pretty minor if it got reduced to 4 games. Missed a test as opposed to a dirty one, something like that.
Second life! I say start him in the playoffs. He'll go all-out ape-sh*t Gonzo to keep his job.
[ Oops *correction it is 6-10 games on a second violation]
In a well run program a missed test should be a greater sin than a dirty one.
I suspect that the NFL is starting to chill out on pot infractions.
Pot is hardly a performance enhancer in sports, and with the growing trend toward legalization, they should concern themselves with research and testing for CTE.
Not performance enhancing? This guy disagrees.

I take umbrage to your haughty commentary.
That sir, are two warriors dedicated to greatness.
Thank you Henry for pointing out his snobbish attitude.
In another hour I get to test my sporting skills on a lovey steak with some mashed potatoes.
Champion form. Wrap the steak around the potato and cram that thing into your face.

Every single time I see George Shea, I want to build a monorail.
Disdainful annoyance. Not bad for a Wednesday.

Like a gentleman?
Will they activate him for the Playoffs?
Can he play CB?
I would activate him but what do I know. Playoffs is good time to have all available beef on hand, I would think.
They'd have to move someone since they are at 53 currently. What's the status of the 3 CBs (Randall, Rollins, Dorleant) who went down in the 2nd half at DET? Do they IR Rollins?
Jordan Tripp, James Starks, Joe Callahan are a consideration to open a spot
I'd say putting Starks on IR might be a viable option
Tripp has shown up a lot on STs since they signed him. Agree with Starks to IR. Even healthy there isn't really room for him right now.
I doubt Callahan gets exposed with 20 teams already busy working on next year.
I agree that there's no spot for Starks, but the backfield would be really thin really fast with one injury. I personally think a street FA would give you as much from a running perspective, but we know how highly the team values familiarity/assignment assurance.
Now if they know the concussion will linger for even another week or so, that's a different discussion.
Sounds like a circumcision.
Ouch....that reminds me....back in the day I was getting gelded. To set the scene, I am a wimp around needles and all things painfull. I was in the room with the doc, he gave me a shot in each ball to numb and prepare for cutting the cords. All of a sudden he gets called out of the room for a phone call....comes back in and says he has an non golf emergency and has to leave. So I had to return the next day for 2 more shots in the balls and the snipping.
I think I got two Tootsie Rolls for my troubles.
I would've held out for an extension like Tdog.
Now I read that K Backman and Abby are now signed with the Lions. The Vikings must be asleep at the wheel.

Ok, I'll stop cooking my vegies in a pot.
You should cook your "vegies" with pot.
Or, stop cooking your veggies - eat 'em raw!
