If you like Outlaw Country

hard truth writing, that's James McMurtry
Deep Purple 2020 new album.
70's metal vs. 80's metal. 70's metal wins.
To me 70's prog rock = Husker Du alt metal.
Boris?

Fucking live, no lipsync.
It's not quite outlaw country, but:

That's a strategic move for when she starts dating.
Have some more bassoon music:
Youtube helpfully finds that it's been arranged for a whole bunch of instruments, such as the tuba:
Or the accordion:

This has to be on Hank's playlist.
I'm suing.
If you like guitars, pianos and a good story...
One of my favorite bands of all time.
The lead singer grew up with his grandfather who was a revival pentecostal preacher. The other two are French dudes that play over 70 instruments focusing on older obscure instruments.
This was once dubbed Americana Gothic, which is wrong. It's more Pioneer Fervor Gothic. Think "There Will Be Blood".
WHEW !!!! what energy, what passion, just amazing music.
Have some death metal:
Through watching a video of the dudes in Deafheaven, found this band called Alcest. A French progressive/post-metal/shoegaze/blackgaze band. Really digging the whole catalog, but this title track from their album Kodamhas been a really nice find.
Ashley MacIsaac is a Canadian fiddler, singer and songwriter from Cape Breton Island. Video is out of sync but only one I could find.
Somebody say Outlaw Country? Hank III !
"Still Waters" is haunting and beautiful. I had Jim White's Searching For The Wrong-Eyed Jesus CD and was floored that someone made a movie inspired by it. Interesting documentary on the South.
A Dylan tune, a Jack White guitar, a Wanda Jackson vocal and a brass band
Strange bedfellows indeed but it works!
What kind of music would you think some Hippie Stoners from West Virginia that you might end up meeting in the Nevada desert (On the lam after a cross country killing spree? Dealing Meth? Heading to Burning Man? Just driving to a show? Dunno!) would sound like?
Pretty much exactly what you'd think they'd sound like. And they'd look pretty much exactly what you think they'd look like. They'd call themselves Karma To Burn. And instead of naming their songs, they'd just assign them numbers as they wrote them.
In the Karma to Burn 34, is that a Charger vs Mustang
This is pretty damn great. The original lineup of the band X put out their first album in 35 years. And it’s far better than it should be.
John Doe pumping this out and basically my dads age is wild.
This guy has some good shit out there.
Damn, that's amazing.
Been digging this guy's catalog of albums lately.
Any poem, book or song whose opening line is "They killed my brother in a poker game" can't be all bad. This from a great songwriter, the under appreciated John Hiatt. Dam This Town
Never heard him before, but that is awesome.
