Maryland beats the Huggie Bears in a real good game, and for all you Tony Bennett guys Virginia just blew their 4 seed to a 13, Furman.

Gonna be a fun day

My bracket is toast.

I think Princeton plays Missouri where Princetons most famous player came from.  I remember the Caszzie Russel lead Michigan in beating the Tigers back in 64 or so.

As an aside I recall sitting in the first row at the Field House whenMichigan came to town..Cazzie, Bill Buntin and Oliver Darden, that was quite the awakening for a small town Wisconsin kid.  These guys had muscles on muscles.

Those were the days.

Great game. I think 4 different State players passed up the tying 3 in the final seconds. They get to live with being afraid to shoot with the season on the line the rest of their lives.

My last game was in 1974 for Bartlett Ave’s 8th grade team, but Goddam if I wouldn’t have heaved one up.

It’s pretty incredible that Creighton is in this position.   Having watched a fair amount of Big East b ball they weren’t much of a threat to Xavier and Marquette and U Conn and Providence for most of the year but got hot toward the end of the season.   I kind of figured Marquette was fools gold having won so many close games and they drew the worst possible matchup in MSU in round 2 but overall the Big East was really good and competitive this year.

As for Gonzaga, honestly, there’s no excuse for them to not finally break through and win it all.  All the big dogs are out.  On paper, they are probably the best team left standing. Then again, they have to get past a pretty decent U Conn team and a really pesky KSU team.

The next game between UCONN and Gonzaga could essentially be the championship game, as they're arguably the two best teams left in the tournament.  That said, this just feels like a year where a Florida Atlantic wins it all.

Down goes Alabama!!!     And Houston is about to join them!!!!

A 5, 6 or 15 seed is going to the final 4.   And maybe a 9 seed.

For me when Alabama loses in any sport we all win.

UCLA is the team that should be kicking themselves. They had a 10+ minute stretch in the 2nd half where they didn't score a FG and turned a 10 point lead into a 10 point deficit. Then with about 3 minutes to go they found themselves and still almost won.

UCLA was down their two best defensive players and it showed. Overall they played well enough to win offensively (only 6 turnovers / 7-18 from the arc), but for the first time all year they allowed an opponent to shoot 50% on them (their season average was 40%)

FAU and K State has been a real battle so far. Tied at 16 at the 12:00 mark.

Pretty good game. Tons of turnovers by both teams, so far. Goldin, from FAU, is playing well. 8 points and 8 boards in the 1st half.
