I know I had high expectations 🤷🏻

Don’t care how fast you are if you can’t stay on the field it’s useless. Right now Watson is that guy. More potential than MVS but significantly less reliable.

Also Pops Watson suffers from some sort of mental illness. Let him scream at the clouds.

Watsons dad speaks the truth but honestly is there any fan base that does not do exactly that. Cut and paste that comment for any team out there.

There is truth in what he says, and you are correct any fanbase does that for sure. Are we spoiled and some of us entitled as fans? oh absolutely we are but when our team for the majority of the last 30+ years has had some very good teams there will be expectations that come with it.

I feel badly for Watson (especially with the ACL) and I think he has had some really bad luck with injuries.  I obviously know nothing behind the scenes, but I do question if he could have played in some games that he has missed.

Behind a paywall, but according to Pete, this is the FA pass rusher that fits GB the best. Milton (Milty?!) fits both the right age, the right upside, and also won't cost a ton if the Packers pursue him.

Gives me Zadarius vibes (hopefully Milty has the right attitude) when Gute signed him off the Ravens. Smith was also a part-time pass rusher who was behind a talented DL with the Ravens at the time Gute snagged him.

Milton Williams, Philadelphia Eagles

If Gutekunst thinks he can get more bang for the free-agent buck from an inside rusher, Williams is probably the guy who’d interest him most. The Eagles’ free agent is young enough (26 in April) and coming off a season in which he had seven sacks in 21 games (playoffs included). He also finished third on the Eagles in pressures, behind Carter and Sweat.

Williams has been a part-time player and mainly a pass rusher who’s never played even 50% of the Eagles’ defensive snaps in a season. But his performance last season and in the playoffs could easily land him a contract in the range of $15 million a year.

“Milton’s intriguing,” one of the scouts said. “He made plays for them, especially this year. He's essentially a backup for them, but he makes more plays than Jordan Davis. He deserves to be a starter, he deserves to get the money he’s going to get. I think he’ll be a good player, not one of those guys that made plays and then you pay him and he’s nothing.”

Myles Garrett, Maxx Crosby, Josh Sweat pass rushers Packers may pursue

He doesn't start because he is awful vs the run

There are plenty of good pass rushers across the league who aren't that great against the run so I am not sure that would be a deal breaker for Gute. It's much harder to find a guy who can pressure the QB on passing downs, shed his blocker and get to the QB. Right now, LVN is the opposite. He's been better against the run and can't seem to get to the QB.

Gute might also feel more comfortable pursuing a guy like WIlliams knowing Edge Cooper, Kenny Clark, and Gary are also along that DL to shore up the run defense.

They should return to not helping their teammates gain yardage. Remember this scene? Chuck Mercein said he didn't want to draw a penalty so he threw his arms in the air. I don't mind so much the scrums that happen when say an RB gets held up by the D and then the OL comes in to push the whole pile forward, but the tush push is more rugby than football. Three yards and a pile of players. At this point, what's to prevent two-thirds or a whole drive of only tush pushes?

I see nothing wrong with the tush push.   You don’t like it figure out how to stop it.

for a sneak you got 6 guys pushing back a qb twisting and turning so that an idiot ref calls the Qb short like when the Chiefs supposedly stopped Josh Allen short.

The sneak turns into a scrum many times so why not let both sides  do it.

Agree.   He's got more value than MVS but not much.   Watson is a great kid, the kind of guy you want on your team.   The problem is he isn't built for this game like the true freaks.  He struggles with catching balls that are above his head and he is constantly dealing with soft tissue issues.

I feel bad for him but that's just the way his career is going to play out.   Wish it wasn't so because he appears to be an all star human.

Oh yeah, didn't he have a super annoying sister too?   One that Beef would be drooling over?  So he has Jennings beat in that department at least.

So set up Beef on a blind date with Goldie?

Look at the mits on 64!  I never noticed that in this picture before.  I assumed they were all barehanded that day.

Schneidman speculating Packers move on from Josh Myers, move Sean Rhyan to C, keep Major Tom at RT, and start Morgan at RG.

If that's the scenario guessing they add another OL in the first 3 rounds to compete...a swing tackle, or perhaps a versatile interior OL who can also pinch hit at C...what they hoped Monk would be. Although maybe they think Monk will be that guy...Center 2.

What's been lost in the tush push is that it was an illegal play for decades and was changed in 2005. So it's not like we're taking out a part of the game that's been there forever.

I just think it's a boring play. Imagine a scenario where every team learns how efficient the play is and starts running it 20+ times per game. What if teams get inside the 10 yard line and just run 4 straight tush pushes to get into the endzone? Is that what we want from an entertainment perspective? I don't. And lost in sports is that it only exists to entertain.

Remember from the America's Game series on the 67 Packers. Lombardi didn't want anybody who might handle the ball wearing gloves.  Dave Robinson told the equipment guy to give him some brown gloves because Vince wouldn't know the difference!

While the human struggle part of it where you've got two masses of humanity trying to will the ball a couple feet or yards is appealing in its own right, there isn't really any strategy or skill to it.  This is where it loses me.  Football doesn't and has never simply boiled down to who is stronger or more massive.  It has always been a sport of skill and strategy and the tush push doesn't really have any of either.
