I for one like the new format.

I just keep getting lost in the new format, and I'm sure lotsa folks will really like that.  

I like the new format. Much smoother, easier to navigate. Especially the private profile section.

 

Though I could do without the yellow font on the white background... It stings the pupils. 

Who got a new floormat?

I'll work on that. It's also your monitor & browser. The "white" you refer to is basically the same color as the old site (a lighter gold). A combination of things but I'll continue working toward a happy medium for everyone.

The "broke" part is a hint to why the format has changed.

The ongoing operation of X4 as an ad-free board is costly- hence the change to a more affordable and upgraded format.

 

Stated another way, would you be willing to write a check each month so that others' had an ad-free community to talk about our Beloved and Mighty Green Bay Packers ?

 

Boris did write that check every month and for that we're all quite grateful

I like the appearance of the new board.  Hopefully the IPhone functionality works at some point but it does just fine with the IPAD.

For what it's worth (which probably isn't much), I'm getting black text in posts on alternating light green and light gray backgrounds, with the overall background being a darker gray.  I like that. 

As for posting links, doesn't the old format of putting URL=yourlinkhere, link text here, and the closing tag, all in square brackets, still work?

Here, for example, should be a link to Britt Ekland in a bikini.

Humans are creatures of habit and tend to resist changes to what we already know or are used to, myself included. I joined in 2005 (I think?), and many of you have been here much longer than that, so all this new stuff seems strange at first glance.

It'll take a little bit of time to be accustomed to these changes, but it won't be long before we all come to appreciate them.

is there a reason the column that holds what is read only utilizes about a 1/3 of the screen?  that big gray bar on the right side is begging to be covered up and it would make it easier to read if the boxes were wider.  just sayin...

I agree on the black font, that yellow font was tough to read.  I also like the gray background, it's an easier contrast.  You Da Man!

Does anyone else prefer a date on when the post was made?  I don't mind the '11 hours ago"," 9 hrs ago" and so on, but sometimes when it gets too far past posting, the "659 days ago" gets a little hard to figure out when that post was made.

Everything will be working 100% by the time training camp starts. I'll probably continue tweaking the appearance to get it dialed in. It's a WIP

 

Thanks Geeman. Appreciate the Credos. I made the move now during our slow time to (hopefully) avoid any interruption during the season. Now if we can just get the other stuff straightened out.

What's the DNS issue you are working? Would like mobile now, sure, but gotta have it when TC opens.
