Eagles traded away draft picks for WR1 AJ Brown, Safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, CB Darius Slay and even sent a 4th rounder to Chicago in a mid-season trade for DE Robert Quinn.

Trading premium draft picks, or even a 4th or 5th round pick, for players has been taboo in Green Bay since Ted Thompson took over and and his protege Gute has continued this strange tradition.

I hope whomever takes over after the current regime departs is willing to explore every avenue, including trades FOR players, to improve the roster.

And no need to rehash all the "but they were in on player X, Y, and Z" spin out of Packerland when for 20 years no such trades have taken place.

I give Philly props for making a lot better personal decisions than the Packers brain trust over the past few years.

Dumping Wentz when they could, trading for Brown, signing Slay, building the O and D lines the way they have, etc. has worked out for them.

It's all worked out for Philly, but the coach and his team are still hard to like, much less the fans. They were the better team, but it wasn't a game once Purdy went down. It might have ended with Philly winning anyway, but it would have been a lot more fun to watch.

Ok, I got it…….Jimmy G for #12.  Whadya think???    San Fran is NOT gonna keep handsome man, Jimmy G. Eh??  Not with Purdy coming along.  #12 to the Jets or wherever and we get Jimmy G.

Or bringing in a guy like Suh.

No. Hell No.

See, Goldie thumbs down, and that is how so many fans view things.

Oh, Suh did something years ago so we won't bring him in because of something, something, something.  And the Packers' defense could have used him in 2022 but something, something, something as the organization has the same dumbass attitude.

What bugged me is the Niners DBs were drawing flags for the same shit the Bucs DBs were doing to us a few years ago. the old "let 'em play" in the playoffs went out the window. Don't blame Shanahan for ranting on the sidelines.

Whole game turned on that botched fourth down catch early in the game. Had they challenged that, it would have been Niner ball in good field position. I realize that Purdy's injury would have made things difficult, but you'd think Shanahan would have been suspicious when that receiver got up right away and started bumping his fists together in what was obviously a "hurry up" signal. Tossed the red, stop the game, take a chance. BIG STAKES if you win it.

Totally agree. It was like Shanny was waiting to hear from his booth, but they never showed an immediate good replay. But you've got to be aware that when a WR leaps up and signals for a hurry up, he did not make a clean catch -- or at least there's big doubt. Huge game-changer that let Philly have an easy score.

Not good for Purdy. could be career ender

I wonder how Tommy John surgery would be different for a QB vs a pitcher? Recovery is about a full year for a pitcher, but would the different motion of a QB affect recovery or prognosis? Let's hope he doesn't need a full Tommy John and only needs a repair.

Purdy lasted until the last pick of the draft because of very limited arm strength. This is going to reduce that even more. He made 700K this year and he'll be lucky to see much more than that in his career at this point. He'll likely be on IR for most of next year and then have to show that his arm is OK in the spring of 2024.

Talk about unfair.

I hate Shanahan. Fans are arrogant. And until you've been up close and personal with Philly fans, you dk how subhuman they really are.

Oh I have been to a few games in Philly and they are definitely sub human.

Went to a preseason game between the Packers and Philly sometime in the late 90s or early 2000s.  As you go through the turnstiles there were 3 Eagles fans on the concourse up one level spitting on, flicking cigarettes,  and dumping beer on Packers fans.  They were met by Philly's finest a few minutes later.

No doubt three idots mean that all Philly fans are definitely subhuman.

All of them no absolutely not I know not all fans of a team are shit heads.  But from what I have experienced at that game and a Flyers hockey game I would put them near the the bottom of the fans list.

One rung above vikings fans. My Pastor told us, in a sermon, about friends of his, who were visiting the area, for a lions-vikings game. My Pastor's friends were Lions fans. When they were leaving the stadium, still wearing their lions jerseys, etc, after the game, vikings fans followed them to their car and then ran them off the road as they headed home. Minnesota nice.

Fans are fans, and there's always going to be assholes, usually drunk.
But Philly fans are on a level all their own.

The only team (that I know of) that had a jail at their stadium, and they're PROUD of that fact.
Booing and pelting Santa Claus with snowballs.
Beat up an opposing team's mascot...twice! Once inside the stadium and later in the parking lot after the game.

If I add in some baseball games, we can also include throwing BATTERIES.

I've had similar experiences there. You can't really "appreciate" their level of asshole unless you've been in the thick of it.
