A big part of it was facing Brees and a legit offensive line that really stopped our pass rush. But not having Shields and Burnett was also a big part of the loss. I don't know if Brees has this kind of success if half our secondary isn't out.

We gave up 4 points when we tried to throw a TD pass to Peppers. Anybody else catches that ball. It was almost right on the numbers. The phantom pass interference call against House gives New Orleans the ball at the 16, instead of being 3rd and 3 at the 50. The way our defense has played, they probably still score there. But that PI and throw to Peppers could could have very easily been an 11 point swing. In an at the time close game, that's pretty huge.

It's Chris Collinsworth, you were expecting something different?

I guess he could have ignored it

I'm disappointed but I'm not worried about this team. McCarthy is right, New Orleans is better than their record. Sometimes a team just puts it together and dominates at home, we did it last week against a Panther team that is better than that loss indicated. We get a break, we get some guys back, I'm not worried though. Detroit will meltdown like they always do...it's Detroit.

At at least we're not the Bears...

Agree, Bulaga has digressed as well. Interior is solid, we are avg at best at tackle.  With #12 as your QB, I'm tempted to say that we should look their early in the draft instead of MLB.  I feel like MLB talent can be found later, but elite talent at T doesn't fall.

After a nice stretch, this was the next big test for the defense to see where they stood

they failed miserably. What we saw from them was what we've seen for years whenever they play any QB worth a damn. Brees had his way and the rush defense was yet again laughably bad

Didn't force a single punt...that's twice that's happened now, so kudos to the defense for that
