RODGERS: Brett appearance was "in the works" last week. "We had a real good time."
"They pitched to me this idea of presenting with Brett. Felt strongly it was going to be a good thing for us and Packer Nation."
"We got a real sweet pic (backstage) of me and Brett and Joe Montana and the Mannings…"
"It was time to move forward. Had a good talk with him on the phone"
"The irony of me saying "That was awkward..".. There was nothing awkward about that moment for the two of us."
Rodgers said part of his on-stage bit with Favre was scripted, some was unscripted.
"I hope the fans enjoyed it and got a little laugh."
Asked if there was any ill-will toward Favre (in response to Favre saying no ill-will toward Aaron) - AR: "I'm gonna pull a Mark Maguire here, we're not here to talk about the past"
RODGERS: "Important to make sure that (Favre) is recognized for all the accomplishments he's achieved. He's very dear to many of our fans."
on Brett Favre: "He'll be in the Packer Hall of Fame. We'll get his number retired and he'll be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame"
"Thought it was good timing to let the fans know there was never any ill will and let's move forward."
"The team knew about (Favre appearance). We're ready to move forward as far as things go with Brett."

Bald faced lie. But what do you expect from a QB that hates cancer patients...
Aaron is on his way to becoming Bart Starr.
If Brett only could have (or would have) come in & backed up Rodgers....He would've been untouchable....tsk tsk Brett

I wonder how much Favre is spending on a PR consultant these days to clean up his reputation. He could have saved a lot of money now if he had spent a little on it then.
If Rodgers were a poet or a politician, I would hold him to his words much more and be bothered by the "never any ill will" line. He's articulate and thoughtful, but he is also a football player. I will give him slack on that this time since it is not really a football issue but a public relations issue-I'm willing to bet this whole episode included a number of parties. In contrast, when he called "bull" on the NFL after the SEA game, I hold him to those words because that is an NFL player point that he should know well.
It is so much fun to pick on the hillbilly, but it is time to bring him back into the fold.
Was Manning's forehead photographically enhanced? Has his head grown in the past two years?

**** bert.
F F!
Good of Aaron to take the high road. Doesn't change how Bert left the game. Screw him.
word.
Now I will always agree with: "Packers First"; however, I do think IT IS TIME for many of you tah let da anger go and welcome back one of the best Packers ever. I too thought he was a bit of a jerk towards the end there, but the guy was fun to watch - at least for me. Now if yah all want to slam my A$$ for this statement, well yah just go ahead and do it...Cause you know why? Cause I drink manly beers and can take da beating. So bring it!
BTW, I did say "one of the best" and not "da best."

Word is that Rodgers is going to introduce him at Driver's ceremony....

I hope that isn't true. This is Driver's special day, and if TOG shows up he'll steal the spotlight. Then again, maybe that's what he wants to do.....
Pevre will flip-flop 3 times before the ceremony. Then beg off at the last minute due to his near fatal lawn mower accident.
His wanker got in the way of the shift knob while chugging Aunt Granny's tonic.

Taken out by his drunken ass cousin brother, I guess. Et tu brette.

Is that Zygi on the mower? Was that part of the deal to get him back for 2010?

Hey....Dude! Are you a politician or somethin' ? You're kinda missing the context there. LOL!
Actually, that's right on target and in context. You downplay Favre's behavior and then highlight what you feel are people's exaggerated reactions. You can feel what you want but telling other people to "get over it" misses the point. I suspect Packer Nation will always support loyalty and forgive when there are sincere apologies, but Favre gave neither.
Fair response Doc, but does not change my opinion. Also, my quote was more of a suggestion/recommendation thing rather than a directive - I try my best not to tell people what to think or do (at least that was/is my intent). I know that there are very strong opinions against Favre and Favre is responsible for that - his fault! Just imagine the embarrassment he went through - WOW!!! But for me, I am in a forgiving mood.
The guy lit the bridge on fire and then threw gas on it.
You mean the bridge over the Rubicon?
I think any reasonable Packer fan would support Favre's accomplishments as it relates to having his number retired, being in the Packer HOF and being in the NFL HOF. That doesn't mean they have to like the person being honored and certainly I don't "forgive" the way he conducted himself, but he does deserve to have his accomplishments recognized. Personality aside he played for 18 seasons, started like 300 straight games, set all kinds of major NFL passing records, had 3 MVP awards, and has a SB ring. Again I don't like the person, but that resume deserves to be honored.
Sometime down the road. The bridge is still smoldering.

Brett Favre: "My legacy is mine."
Who are we to deny him of his solitude?
We all know how he enjoys his alone time. It ain't pretty.
diggy liked bert's "poetry in his pants", so there's that.

Favre: “If you’re a true Packer fan, you understand.”
I understand that he is a dick.
